Ever wonder why the videos that the Gurus post
at YouTube look like this…

And your sad little video looks like this…

Let me just say upfront - because I see you raising your eyebrows over there! - that I do not use this software myself, and I dont condone spammy marketing tactics. That said, I do have some friends that have less of a conscience and make a mean killing with these types of automated techniques.
So if you’re desperate to get some exposure and put some steroids into your Video Marketing strategy… this may be just up your alley:
Satya of Novasoft Inc has just released a new product called Tube Automator. Basically this program will do what it takes to rate your video and get it placed on the main page of YouTube in featured categories like “most viewed and “top rated” and “most discussed”.
Included with Tube Automator is a guide titled 7 Simple Steps To Make Money From Youtube, which teaches you how to make videos (even if you dont have any prior experience) and how to make money doing it.
Now if your video sucks, that’s not going to help you a whole lot. Sure you’ll get some views, and you may even get some traffic to your website… but it would pretty much be a waste. This program is more for the medium to advanced marketers than the newbie.
At the very least, now you know how it’s done
Best,

Hello Lynn,
I don’t seem to understand your position well. You wrote, “and I dont condone spammy marketing tactics. That said, I do have some friends that have less of a conscience and make a mean killing with these types of automated techniques…”
But nevertheless you endorsed it – I mean using spammy software to LIE to people about what really did not happen in order to influence ‘positive’ decision for the marketer? Or am I missing something here, Lynn?
I will like to hear your reaction.
Thanks.

Lynn , I learn many things from your posts. Today, I’ve learnt some nice javascript tricks
;). Thanks.
Lynn Terry // Sep 29, 2007 at 5:53 am
LOL @ javascript. I should probably delete this post, and knew when I hit the publish button that I was probably going to regret it later.
I received the notice about this product release from Novasoft directly, because I am an affiliate for them. I cant recall the product they had a couple of years ago that I liked and promoted… but lately they are releasing some spam/automation type tools that I have pretty much stayed away from.
At any rate - I wouldnt personally use this type of software myself. I think that a great video + smart marketing could get you the same or better results. Obviously that takes a little more time and energy… but its the way to go IMO.
That said, there is a reason these products exist, and there are a good percentage of people in the industry looking for automation of ANY sort, and a “magic trick” to rise to the top.
Thanks for the comments - keep ‘em coming

Okay Lynn,
Now your position is well understood.
Anyway, since there are plenty of ways to make money the GOOD WAY I don’t think there is any need for ‘funny tricks’ at all.
Please always share tips like this, they are helpful.
And many thanks for your timely response.

Yeah, to be honest I raised my own eyebrows when I checked out the sales copy. I mean, it doesnt get any more blatant than that!
At the very least, I thought it would make for a good discussion. And a good look at this should tell any legit marketer what it would take to get some serious traffic from video marketing (without spamming)

I can’t help but wonder… How long will it last?
I’m sure this works and is the result of a method that works–turns into a software product–gets abused–and then doesn’t work anymore.
Does anyone remember “BlogPower”? There is no longer support for this product and it actually made some of my sites get de-listed (this was years ago).
Who owns YouTube? Google.
Does Google “play dat” type of thing on Google? Nope, so I think they won’t let YouTube products like this last long.
Lynn, you’re tops in my book…but when you feel that uneasy feeling…trust it.

Interesting software. I have yet to use YouTube for anything but viewing videos I have been referred to that are funny!
Lynn Terry // Sep 29, 2007 at 2:32 pm
It wont last. But such is the case with spam tactics. They are temporary quick fixes that die hard and fast.
I used to have a friend that was into bulk email spam, and you wouldnt believe the money he spent on email accounts, “bulletproof hosting” and bulk mailing lists. All of which *might* last a 24-hour period.
He asked for my input on his “marketing plan” and I gave it to him: dont do it. Personally I see it as a huge job to stay on top of all the details, versus just marketing smart and letting things run more easily and more automated.
Unfortunately, for people that are willing to work the hours it takes, or deal with their own conscience on the matter, there is profit involved.
I think though, that if you read between the lines here, you can see what it would take to get massive exposure through video marketing: views, votes and comments.
Just like using “link bait” on content sites or blogs, your video needs to have the kind of appeal that encourages a reaction from your target market…

Its basically a quick way to make money, for as long as you can. I look at it this way if I spend $197 on this and make $50 a day for a month with it, its paid me many times over.
If you are in when the technique hasn’t been abused a lot you gain a lot. If you dilly dally and hop on the bandwagon too late then you don’t make much.
So ethics apart, if you wanna get in, get in now or don’t get in at all.

This is just… sad.
As a person who has a YouTube account, and annoyed with all those videos that pop up on the ‘most’ lists, wow.
I’m sorry, but this is spam. You’ve totally contradicted yourself by promoting this.
There are other, better ways to make money on YouTube or to get videos viewed. It isn’t by doing spammy things, because then people block you, YouTube bans your IP and accounts, etc. If you have to risk being a spammer in order to get your business promoted, something is seriously wrong.
YouTube is a community, just like any other place on the web. If you need examples of how to use YouTube to your advantage, watch Nalts, Renetto, and SxePhil. Become part of the community and let people find you, subscribe to your videos. You don’t want to get to the top and then someone finds out you were using spammy ways to get there.
Lynn Terry // Oct 1, 2007 at 11:29 am
I do agree with you, Queenie - all great points.
Lynn Terry // Oct 1, 2007 at 11:33 am
I got the point, by the way - lesson learned. I wont even so much as mention anything even remotely close in the future
I was going more for an eyebrow-raising discussion-inducing effect than anything. Obviously the topic would bring in curious visitors from other sources as well - which was all part of the point.
Not worth it to have you guys wondering what planet I’m on this week, though
LOL
Back to my usual topics…
