Eavesdropping On Blog Conversations

I stumbled upon an interesting conversation going on between two bloggers…

They were replying to each other through blog posts, but it was very much like reading their personal emails back and forth to each other.

I happened upon this ‘conversation’ and decided to eavesdrop a bit as they were discussing one of my blog posts. That’s actually how I came across it – because WordPress notified me that someone was linking to my blog…

The two bloggers are Kelly McCausey and Nicole Dean, and the blog post I came across first was Guru Envy? It is obviously a continuation of a previous discussion, and Nicole is replying to Kelly’s question at her own blog – which was “Did you see Lynn Terry’s blog today?”.

I found myself going back and forth, reading their conversations and their replies to each others questions. Just like I said above, it was very much like eavesdropping and reading their personal emails.

Something about it made it a very fun read. I’m not sure if the style and format piqued my interest more, or just the concept in general, but I loved it! Going back to their original conversation, I found that this is formally known as a Cross Blog Conversation.

Personally, I think more bloggers should do this, and I can see it turning into a very fun and viral phenomenon across the blogosphere. This sounds like much more fun than a plain old meme, dont you agree? ;)

I’m anxious to get in on the fun, of course!

How about it, Kelly & Nicole – can I ask a question? :D

-> I’m curious what you do when you’re not online blogging, emailing your lists, working on your websites – and managing your online business, in general. What’s your personal life like, behind the scenes? As in, how do you spend your free time and what are your favorite things to get into?

We’ll see if the ladies reply ;) . In the meantime, I’d love to hear your thoughts on Cross Blog Conversations – and whether you enjoy them as much as I do!

Best,

I thought it was fun too. I thought it added a personal touch. Plus they seem to ask each other the questions most of us probably wanted to ask them. Lynn, I love the question you have put forward to Kelly and Nicole as well. Look forward to reading their answers.
