Day 21 of the 20-day Challenge

Day 21? What? Huh? How can it be day 21 in a 20-day challenge?

That question has already been addressed in my 20/20 progress posts, but here's one I received yesterday (on Day 20) that I didnt expect:

If a 10-year veteran and marketing "guru" cant do it, then how do they expect ANYone to? The system must be flawed...

This is of course in direct reference to Michael Green's guaranteed $20k in 20 Days challenge that launched several weeks ago.

Fair enough. I'll answer both questions openly here before I get into todays update. Some of this will be repetitive for those who have followed along closely - but if its still being asked or commented on, then its worth addressing...

Its been said a number of times that I have an advantage in this Challenge due to my experience and connections. That's true and I dont deny it. In fact, I have used "my advantage" throughout the challenge - to offer free resources to challenge participants, host weekly Mastermind Meetings, answer questions on the 20/20 support forum and to help 20+ challengers personally with their individual projects.

That, in addition to managing my usual workload (which includes daily entries here at ClickNewz, managing my active discussion forum, writing for my weekly newsletter, updating my affiliate sites for the upcoming holiday sales rush, etc, etc), has taken up most of my working hours - and then some.

To state the obvious: I could have left everything (and everyone) hanging and just focused 100% of my energy to completing the challenge myself. That's not the reason that I took part in the 20/20 Challenge, and so I dont think its a fair assessment of the challenge itself to use me as a guage for its success.

While I am actively participating in the Challenge at my own pace, and very excited about the progress and the impending results, the main reason that I paid the $247 entry fee (the half price offer) was to check out the 'product' (ie offer a thorough review) and to join my readers "in the trenches" so to speak.

Mission accomplished. And I am very impressed with the 20/20 Challenge, having had this opportunity to review it from the inside and to work directly with the participants.

Many of the Challenge participants are behind schedule for one reason or another. Some of them decided to devote more time to their challenge for quality purposes. Others had hurdles to overcome, and are pressing forward regardless.

The overall morale is very high within the group, even after 3 straight weeks of high motivation and a few missed deadlines. Of course, everyone started on a different day, but the initial group is nearing or on their 20th day.

Just to clarify, I am not backing out on you here, or making excuses for the Challenge. But I dont want a misperception or a personal dig at me to discourage anyone from taking part in what could literally be a major turning point in their online business and in their life.

With that out of the way, we'll get on to an actual update...

Day 21

As I mentioned on Day 19, my project for the 20/20 Challenge is a product launch. The product teaches an awesome online marketing method that I have been testing out behind the scenes for the last few months.

I have tested this method myself, and also with several other product developers and online marketers. So part of my work today towards this project is getting 2 major case studies outlined that show exactly how this method works (in great detail).

I also started the rough draft for my lead-in and follow-up series, and outlined another (new) special report I am adding in with my product. I'm pretty excited about that one πŸ˜€ .

I'm still working on my JV list, which is growing by the day. The Elite Members at my discussion forum are helping me with my list of potential Joint Venture partners. In exchange, I'll be giving them a copy of this highly valuable JV list as a free download when it is complete.

I have a Virtual Assistant working on some market research behind the scenes, so I sent her the details for that this morning. And of course I sat down here to give you an update πŸ˜‰ . So I am off now, to finish up the work on my case studies and also get prepared for tomorrows Free Webinar at SSWT...

  1. Well done. Good job detailing things and keeping focus on the positive. Helping others, too, incentivizes them to both help you and others in return.

I've told people that "20 Days" doesn't have to literally mean 20 days. Like in biblical terminology, 1 "day" could take 3 days depending on a person's life circumstances.

It's also true that a person could do it in less time.

Thanks for all your thoughtfulness and wisdom,
    Sam

  2. I agree Sam, and appreciate your comments πŸ˜‰

  3. Shannon Smith says

Obviously it wasn't a question of can or can't. Of course you COULD have finished it in 20 days if you had wanted to.

You chose to go slower not only for quality in your own project, but to help others along the way.

I say woo hoo to you! Or is that supposed to be woot-woot? LOL

  4. LOL Shannon - Thank you!

I appreciate the support here. I did feel like the negativity should be addressed though, as I figure if one or two mentioned it that meant many others might be thinking it.

As I said, the Challenge is definitely solid, its an awesome investment, and its TONS of fun!

    Hi Lynn,

Love your smile! Read your comments in the 20 day challenge. Interested to know more about your new product. I am well on my way with my "product". You wouldn't have a joint venture proposal template by any chance would you or know where I can get one? Thanks.:-)

  6. Thank you πŸ˜€

You can probably find one by doing a search on Google I imagine - or use the ones Michael provides in the 20/20 manual...

  7. quit smoking herbal says

Thanks Lynn..:-) I'll have another look at the manual and see what's there. You never mentioned anything further about your product or is that top secret until launch?

  8. Much of it is "top secret" at the moment, yes - but not for long πŸ˜‰ I think my regular readers are probably catching on!

  9. Hi Lynn,

Just started the challenge and wanted to say that I find your positive and upbeat attitude refreshing. As well as taking ownership for whats is on your plate and realistic given your life circumstances.

Keep up the encouragement, its inspiring!

    Ashley Ryan

  10. Thank you Ashley - and welcome to the group!

  11. Hi Lynn,

Miss your voice in the 20/20 forum. Have you completed your project?

I am very close and, like you, didn't worry about the exact day count - and think I will make much more than 20k πŸ™‚

    Barry

  12. Hey Barry! Thanks for the note πŸ˜€

I'll have to click over and make a visit. I've just been swamped between work and holidays - and yes, I am still working on the Challenge. A bit behind the scenes lately, I'm in major development phase now. Like you, very close and really pumped about the anticipated outcome. I'll have to post an update here over the weekend.

Thanks again - see you over at the challenge forum πŸ˜‰

  13. So, how's that 20k challenge working for you? It's been over 90 days!

  14. Hi Mike,

I quite unfortunately injured my back last Fall during that time, and was several weeks in recovery. I put the remainder of my project on hold for a bit, so I’ll be giving a full update once I get back in the swing of things with the Challenge.

  15. So? What happened? Did anyone meet the goal besides you? This thread was kinda anti-climatic.

  16. Hey, nice to see another scam being promoted by another phony wanna-be. $20,000 in 20 days? Give me a break. This is dishonest and it hurts people. You should be ashamed of yourself.

  17. LOL Vic - Welcome to ClickNewz πŸ˜€

The 20/20 Challenge is not a scam, its a step-by-step manual and a great one at that. Definitely not dishonest or hurtful. πŸ™„

Adam - things died down here at the blog because they picked up over at my private forum, where we continued the discussion. I've seen some great products and awesome achievements come out of the 20/20 Challenge - and there are quite a few still working on their projects in various phases.

  18. Hi Lynn

I have been looking into the 20/20 challenge and doing some background. I will probably take it up to test.

Your info and feedback has been good and it always annoys me when people provide negative criticism usually without trying the product or putting any effort into it.

For the price of the challenge even if it takes 40 days to make $20 000 then the challenge may be off but the result is a success.

I research many products and some may over hype their claims or claimed results in a perfect world but to be honest they are for background and resources. At the end of the day it takes hard work, common sense and commitment to make money in any industry.

    -Mark

  19. I think you'll be very pleased with the 20/20 product. The manual is an awesome piece of work. I would highly recommend you print it and put it in a binder - or send the file to Kinko's (or similar). This is one you'll want to have in-hand and refer back to time & again for future projects πŸ˜‰

    Best,
    Lynn Terry

  20. So, Lynn,
I found your taking up the challenge to be very inspiring. I'm interested to know whether you ever saw any "fruits" of your labor? In other words, did you make your $20k, or come close? I know you injured your back, sorry to hear that, but I'm dying to know if the 20/20 program did for you what it promised?

    Chris

  21. Michael Green’s 20k Challenge was definitely impressive. Its an awesome step-by-step manual. Many of my members went through the challenge at the same time and every single one of them were impressed with it as well. Its guaranteed, but there wasn’t a single refund from my group that I am aware of.

I did not personally complete the challenge because I was nursing a back injury there at the end that took me offline, and then I closed on my new house shortly after Γ’β‚¬β€œ talk about a major sidetrack πŸ˜‰ But to be honest, most of the products I try to review are not necessarily for me (I’m not new to the business Γ’β‚¬β€œ this is my 12th year) as I have so many other things in the works Γ’β‚¬β€œ so I spent the majority of the challenge days helping my members through the daily steps instead.

I think you’ll really like it. It is guaranteed of course, and Michael stands behind is guarantees. He’s very well known online and has been doing business on the internet for quite a few years.

And yes - I did earn a nice chunk of change during the challenge... πŸ™‚ Definitely something I'll be repeating!

    Best,
    Lynn Terry

  22. Hi Lynn,

I am curius, I bought the Traffic Secrets 2.0 last year and am wondering if it is the same type of manual and things as the 2020 challenge?

Can you tell me how they are the same and how they may be different?

    Thanks
    Kristina

  23. Hi Kristina,

Traffic Secrets 2.0 is more of an online business or Internet Marketing (as a whole) course. Its excellent of course - you mentioned you have it yourself so I'm sure you've been through it a time or two and know what's there.

The 20 Day Challenge by Michael Green is different in that it's a step-by-step blueprint for a very specific online business model: starting from square one, and having a product to sell (and a way to sell it) all in 20 days. Its very detailed - and its good.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on TS2.0

  24. Lynn,

I recently read your post on the 20/20 Challenge and found it quite interesting. As you may already, I am trying to look for ideas to create my first affiliate site. Looking at the dates, this challenge started back in 2007 and would like to know how has it turned out for the participants that you had personally assisted, and yourself thus far? It definitely is compelling content. The price is a bit steep for me at $444.00, however, since you've personally worked with this program I'm willing to listen and trust your opinion. I would like to know if you can personally assist me with this as I would love to be one of your success stories. I feel that I'm still trying to grasp the idea of affiliate marketing as I seem to be looking into niches that are quite competitive.

    • I am not sure if the 20/20 Challenge product has been changed or updated since it's original launch a couple of years ago, but it is an info-product development course. Nothing to do with affiliate marketing. For that, if you need a course or guide, I use and recommend Rosalind Gardner's Super Affiliate Handbook.
