What better way to kick things back into gear than a coffee break?
Stephanie tagged me a few days ago to tell you 7 things about me that you probably dont know. Since I’ve posted a similar list before, I’ll give you 7 brand new points to chew on…
1. I was a passenger in a near-fatal accident in 1994 and diagnosed with brain damage. I was left partially paralyzed and deaf, and expected to never work again. I had a miraculous recovery.
2. I married at 17.
(That may not come as a shock to you if you’ve ever done the math LOL)
3. I chat with my 16yo son on Yahoo Messenger. While he’s in the next room. (He doesnt realize I can hear him calling me a dork!)
4. I currently have 3 computers running on my desk simultaneously. Two desktop systems and one laptop. Its overkill.
5. My backups are not current
Are yours?
6. I was once engaged to the author of Dark Ascension. Scary, huh?
7. I have no idea how to check my voicemail.
Now its my turn to tag a few people that I want to learn more about! Keep an eye on these bloggers for 7 things you probably dont already know about them:

Lynn it is nice to know these about you. But some are a bit scary and funny:
1. I was a passenger in a near-fatal accident in 1994 and diagnosed with brain damage. I was left partially paralyzed and deaf, and expected to never work again. I had a miraculous recovery.
I am happy to hear this happen to you. What a close shave.
2. I married at 17.
(That may not come as a shock to you if you’ve ever done the math LOL)
At 17 ? I wonder why that happened - hey, too young marry at this age. Anyway, you are over 30 now. How are faring?
3. I chat with my 16yo son on Yahoo Messenger. While he’s in the next room. (He doesn’t realize I can hear him calling me a dork!)
Funny. And what does ‘dork’ mean?
5. My backups are not current. Are yours?
No
6. I was once engaged to the author of Dark Ascension. Scary, huh?
Engaged? Do you mean on the road to marriage? What happen to the relationship then?

Dork means Geek, except its not a compliment lol

Okay it nice to know you are recovering fast. Lynn. And your fast response tells me that.

Wow, #1 sounds really scary. Good thing you recovered because I have made great use of you and your sites throughout the last few years! I don’t think I would know what I know without you!

Thank you Stefani
I am certainly grateful for my recovery. It could have been MUCH worse.

Sounds like number one was a God thing. Interesting facts. Sorry I didn’t see this sooner…it has been a rough week.
Lynn Terry // Oct 27, 2007 at 9:20 pm
I read about that on your blog earlier today, Nell - sorry to hear it. Its been a trying week here as well so I understand. I hope things smooth out soon.

Very glad you recovered from the accident Lynn :). Wife & I were also passengers in a similar accident in late 2000. Lucky for me and everyone else involved, minor injuries. For me, 2 cracked ribs & knocked most of my teeth out (ouch!). For her, massively bruised legs & a couple of broken fingers. Thank goodness - it surely could’ve been alot worse.
In your case, I’m pretty sure that the “Brain Damage” just made you even smarter :).

Thank you Darrell - I am certainly thankful for my recovery. As I said, I was a passenger in this accident, and due to memory loss I cant recall the details of the day and didnt know the driver (that I know of). I hit the windshield at 125 mph when the driver swerved off the road.
My jaw was broke in 2 places and dislocated, which smashed my eardrum. I knocked 10 teeth out of place, fractured my skull, broke my cheekbone and bruised both eyeballs. I had shattered glass scarring where I broke the windshield when I hit it also.
Outside of some minor hearing loss, which most people dont notice, and a small scar on my forearm, you might never know I had such an experience.
The driver broke his neck in that accident. We were all very fortunate to survive it.

Mine happened in April of ‘67 a drunk cam up the Freeway the wrong way, The state Patrol said there where 88 ‘ of skid marks in which a ‘65 Mustang (my new car) smashed into a’53 Pontiac, guess who lost that battle? 20 hours in a coma , 44 days in the hospital, 6 mo’s off work and two years medical restriction at work. I have no memory of the accident and for several weeks after it happened. Wore a Halo(for the skull fracture) for several months after leaving the hospital. No Back or Hip Injuries, but broken ankles, left arm, broken ribs. Residual problems inculde not being able to fully extend my left arm, limited ankle range in my left foot and a missing arch in my right foot. Otherwise I’m as good or bad as I ever was. So know at least some of what you went through Lynn.
Darrell Hagan // Oct 28, 2007 at 5:13 pm
Jeez, thats much worse than our accident. Ours was a 2-car collision at highway speed, and things which amazed me after the fact were 1) that nobody in either car was seriously hurt, and 2) that both cars were very smashed, as though they had been hit by a train rather than each other.
Anyway, take care, very glad you’re still with us, and keep up the great work
Lynn Terry // Oct 28, 2007 at 5:25 pm
Thank you
I’m of the opinion that ANY accident is a horrible experience, and am happy to say (knock on wood!) that I have never had one myself.
Lynn Terry // Oct 28, 2007 at 5:27 pm
Thats TERRIBLE , Robert - but I have to agree, you were fortunate to come out of it as well as you did. I’m raising my coffee cup to you from one survivor to the other *cheers!*

That’s quite the accident you had. It’s wonderful that you survived and made such a great recovery.
