3 Internet Marketing Tips From Our Resident Newbie

November 18th, 2007 · 5 Comments ·

I was just checking in with our Resident Newbie, Sandy Naidu, and she has some awesome new tips posted at her blog. I couldnt have written them better myself, so I’ll share those links with you here (so I dont have to :) )…

Title Tags - The Top Ten Mistakes People Make
Sandy offers the top 10 mistakes that people make in their Title Tags, or the title of their web pages and blog posts. All ten points are spot-on, so you should give this list a quick read and make sure you are not making any of these costly mistakes!

Your title tags will make a huge difference in your traffic & income levels. In fact, one of my readers boasts an immediate 25-30% increase in search engine traffic from my title suggestions alone! Its the one thing you can change today, that can affect your traffic stats almost immediately ;) .

What Are Google Alerts?
Sandy considers Google Alerts an “invaluable research tool”, and I couldnt agree more. Not only does she tell you what they are, she shows you how to set them up - complete with screen shots. This is the absolute best way to keep track of who’s saying what online. Are people talking about you on forums, mentioning your website, recommending your products? Set up Google Alerts and find out!

No Follow Tag - What Is It?
Sandy explains what the No Follow tag is, and why you might want to use it. It may spark some ideas for you, such as placing this tag on affiliate links that you post throughout your site, or other links that you dont necessarily want Google to “follow”…

Be sure to check out these great internet marketing tips from Sandy Naidu. She considers herself a “newbie” in regards to Internet Marketing, but she is quickly climbing the ranks in my opinion!

Best,

I’m curious if you can build complex Google alerts. For instance, one that would give Lynn notice if a blog mentioned either “ClickNewz” AND/OR “Lynn Terry”.

The alternative — one for each term — often gives you duplicate alerts (since of course many blog posts would mention both terms).

    Any ideas?
