There are many different ways that you can promote your website or your product online. A good combination of Internet Marketing strategies is particularly effective, and can give you the greatest amount of exposure.
While I use a wide variety of methods and resources, there are 5 marketing strategies I find most effective and use on a regular basis. I’ll share those with you here, along with links to tutorials and explanations so that you can put them to work for you right away…
1. SEO - Search Engine Optimization
This includes optimizing every new web page, every blog post, and even forum posts. Search still drives the highest number of visitors, and done right it can create long-term passive sources of revenue. This is definitely my #1 daily marketing strategy - and comes almost as second nature to anything I am doing online.
2. Blogging
This easily ranks #2 as a daily marketing strategy simply because of the power of Social Networking and visitor interaction. Combined with #1, it can be incredibly powerful for attracting targeted visitors, establishing credibility and building on visitor/customer relationships.
3. List-Building
Whether you are selling products, giving away free content, or giving away free reports, you should be building mailing lists for everything you do. Follow-up is incredibly valuable to your business model long-term.

4. Forums / Social Networks
These are great for connecting with your target market, doing market research, networking with peers & potential partners of all kinds, and also for getting exposure and inbound links.

5. Joint Ventures
A very effective method of combining resources and assets, which is mutually profitable. This is actually one of my favorite marketing strategies - not just because it works so well, but because its actually fun to pull off a great JV that benefits the partners AND their visitors/customers.
All of these Internet Marketing strategies work hand-in-hand and can be very effective when combined as a continuous marketing plan. They are each relatively easy to do, and they are the exact strategies that I use to earn a full-time living online.
If you need more help with any specific point, you can simply do a search on Google for what you need to know - or you can ask in your favorite Internet Marketing discussion forum. You are also welcome to leave your questions & comments below and I will answer them personally.

Using a general post as a hub for a network of in-useful related posts. Nice! I’ll be back to read them all when I have more time.

Hi Lynn, hope I can add a few words here. Of all the ways that you have mentioned I personally feel that SEO is the hardest. Nevermind all the “tips” given by Google themselves, climbing up to be No. 1 is tough tough tough. I remember when I 1st learned about SEO, I went to download.com and typed “search engine” and found a SEO crash course video. It was hilarious. My advice to the newbies, SEO is the Holy Grail of all internet marketing but if you do not see your website up on 1st place in a Google Search, try to focus on other ways to gain the traffic. If I may, Lynn, I hope to let the newbies know that in mailing lists (No. 3), most are daunted by the fact that they do not have a list. For that, I would advise to use Ezine Marketing. It is marketing to someone else’s list of subscribers. Ok, that’s all. Cheers.

Great topic Lynn!
I use article marketing very effectively for building back links, and I agree SEO (using keywords in back links) becomes second nature in anything that I do online as well.
Your newsletter and this blog have helped so many people to be successful online thanks!

Thank you
Mark - I find SEO to be easy… but that’s because I target Long Tail Keyword Phrases and worry less about getting my “site” to #1 and more about getting individual pages in the top 3 results. Check my link on Long Tail for details on how I do that - its one of my most recent newsletter issues.
There is A LOT of misleading information out there on the topic of SEO, but the truth is that good relevant content and specific keyword targeting is all it really takes.
Best,
Lynn Terry

Hello Lynn,
Haven’t being here for a long while now. This post is the first to catch my eyes. Anything about traffic comes high to me these days.
I am right on with the SEO and few others. Still lacking in list building. But about starting. Thanks

Great to see you again!
Those links on list-building should prove helpful. Any questions, just ask!
