There is A LOT of misleading information out there on the topic of SEO, but the truth is that good relevant content and specific keyword targeting is all it really takes.

Of all the ways that you have mentioned I personally feel that SEO is the hardest. Nevermind all the "tips" given by Google themselves, climbing up to be No. 1 is tough tough tough. I remember when I 1st learned about SEO, I went to download.com and typed "search engine" and found a SEO crash course video. It was hilarious. My advice to the newbies, SEO is the Holy Grail of all internet marketing but if you do not see your website up on 1st place in a Google Search, try to focus on other ways to gain the traffic. If I may, Lynn, I hope to let the newbies know that in mailing lists (No. 3), most are daunted by the fact that they do not have a list. For that, I would advise to use Ezine Marketing.
