Black Friday + Cyber Monday = HUGE Savings!
In the US, Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving and is the biggest shopping day of the year. This is the day most people begin (or finish) their holiday shopping, and the day you’ll find the biggest sales and best deals at almost every retail store.
Cyber Monday is the internet’s equivalent to Black Friday, a new tradition for the biggest online shopping day of the year. Even with this new tradition for online merchants, most major retail stores offer great online deals on Black Friday at their website as well…
Black Friday 2007: November 23rd
Cyber Monday 2007: November 26th
Last year I got an incredible deal on dual 19″ widescreen flatpanel monitors on Black Friday. This year I am shopping for a new television. I saw in the Staples circular that they are going to have a 32″ Envision LCD HDTV (reg $899) for half price: $449 (in store only 6am-11am).
Check the websites you usually shop with for great deals, starting at midnight on Thursday night (some have already started!). Even Amazon.com has a Black Friday page set up! Most deals will sell out quick, so you’ll have to act fast – whether you are shopping offline or shopping at home on the internet.

What are you shopping for this year?

I took a ‘buy handmade’ pledge this year – with exceptions for electronics. I scored the 22″ Westinghouse monitor that is on sale at Target – on Amazon this afternoon!
I had a very short list but actually bought it all today, online, so yay for not actually having to leave the house tomorrow!
Oh and another site I’ve been following is the black-friday.net one.
Sweet! You got an awesome deal on it, I assume?
I just found another article about a lot of stores opening at Midnight tonight instead of waiting until regular hours on Friday morning: Midnight Shopping

Wow, that’s awesome. Hmmn, what am I buying? Will just ponder on that one first. Thanks for the info, great post!
Good luck on your bargains, Lynn!
For us in Canada, “Boxing Day” is the biggest shopping day of the year on Dec. 26th. Last year I stood outside of Best Buy freezing in a blizzard at 4:30am to get a 42″ LCD TV for $599. It was worth it though.
Yeah, I’d say so! What a deal

Hm.. future is in holographic television.. but now.. HD rockz!!
I ordered the one I was looking at (linked to above) online last night. It was less than $500 tax and all (shipping was free) so I look forward to checking it out!

I don’t think cyber monday is all it’s cracked up to be. I’ve never seen something on Cyber Monday that was cheaper than the deals on Black Friday. Now that you can shop online Thanksgiving Day, the lines will start to thin out. But the revenue will still grow.
