Carrie Wigal and I have known each other for quite awhile now, and if I'm counting right its been 4 or 5 years.
While we met online, and communicate mainly through the internet, we have met up in person twice now - today being our second trip.
We met for a couple of hours this afternoon for a great lunch, plenty of catching up, some brainstorming and a few good laughs...
Carrie and her husband Ty live in Virginia and both work at home together with their 4 children. The youngest joined Carrie and I for lunch today, baby Matthew, and she generously handed him across the table so I could snuggle and bounce him while we talked 😀
I have to admit, it reminded me how time flies. Not only because my own babies are 11 and 16 years old now... but because it seems like just last week that I read Carrie's blog post about Matthew's arrival!
It all started when she happened to listen in to The Mom Show - an online radio show that has since gone offline - and I was the guest speaker on the show that day. My topic was "Working From Home" and all the things that go along with that for Moms who run a home-based business.
After the show, Carrie signed up for my newsletter and became a member of my forum. We began working together on Carrie's home business goals through my private forum (then TIID).
I took a personal interest in Carrie's products while we were working together, and became a regular buyer at her website. Carrie is the one that sells Paper Illusions, the faux finish wallpaper that I used in my home office makeover 😉
We have much in common as Work-at-Home Moms, and so in addition to doing business with each other we also get along fabulously like old friends. We both prefer our stay-at-home lifestyles, but when she called to say she'd be driving through Tennessee... I couldnt pass up the opportunity to meet for lunch!
There was entirely too much food, and not near enough time. We talked about the 20/20 Challenge, monetizing specific types of content, lead-in marketing strategies, issues we both deal with in working from home, goals - and everything we could possibly squeeze into 2 short hours.
I have always been impressed with Carrie, particularly for her focus and her ability to tackle a HUGE project one step at a time - all the way to completion. I have watched her business grow steadily over the last few years, and her tenacity never ceases to amaze me.
If she had an affiliate program, I'd be a rich woman. I recommend her website to everyone I know! Thanks to Carrie, everyone who walks through my front door says "WOW!" 😀 Check it out for yourself

Yeah, we tried to hook up a little over a year ago when I traveled through TN but it just didn't work out (illness and car trouble)...all the more reason I wanted to make it work this time. Lynn was very flexible and I greatly appreciated her willingness to rearrange her schedule to make the "date" happen.
