Writers For Hire: The Fresh Content Solution
Guest Blog Post by Sharon McMillan
Fresh, quality content is a powerful concept in the increasingly competitive and growing internet marketplace. It truly is what sets you apart from your competitor.
If you’re wondering how you can manage to provide new web content on a regular basis while managing all the other aspects of your business and personal life, I have an affordable solution…
Hire an “on-call†web content writer.
A qualified web content writer will not only provide you with content that is in keeping with the focus and theme of your business, they’ll make sure you’re provided with well written material.
I’ve spent over 15 years writing promotional materials for corporations, associations and small business owners. I’m always so moved when clients express to me their sense of satisfaction and relief at finding a writer who so successfully captures in words the sentiment, tone and priorities of their business.
That’s the benefit of having your own web content writer. You’re paying for a professional writer who is experienced in writing content according to client requirements and appropriate for the style and format of websites.
Best of all you can use your “on-call†web content writer as little or as much as you like and the content you get will be unique. This is an important point given the fact that search engines (and site visitors) are not kind to those who use re-hashed content on their websites.
As a business owner you can’t afford to have your business suffer because you haven’t the time to update your website. Why not outsource your business writing needs just as you would hire an accountant for your accounting needs?
For your business to grow you need to be able to focus on the important things as they arise, without allowing other vital areas of your business to go neglected.
Too much neglect will cause your loyal visitors and customers to start looking at the competition…
Remember: fresh content will help improve your search engine ranking which is an essential part of your marketing effort to drive traffic and sales.
If cost is a concern for you, take a moment to research the going rates for web content writers – I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised…

Hi Sharon,
Nice article. I’ll keep your services in mind. I would recommend that you post what you offer on the digital points forums. They’re a great community.

Digitalpoint is good. I am looking for people to write something for me there at the moment. I’m not entirely sure about the going rate but I guess at the cheap end of the spectrum you pay 1-2 cent per word.
Thanks for that information and reference Shannon!
Hi Sharon,
Thanks so much for taking the time to write this helpful piece for the readers at ClickNewz! I have outsourced writing from time to time for my own sites, but hadnt considered having a professional writer “on call” – I love the idea!
I’ll be calling on you

Call any time Lynn! ClickNewz has been a fantastic resource for me and I’m thrilled to have had the opportunity to talk a little about outsourcing to your readers.
Nice little post.
But from my own understanding, you are talking about content writers that understand the theme of the website and not one with general ‘knowledge’ that needs to be given topics and keywords and, then research to write the article ?
Please clarify further…
Well I’m actually talking about both types of content writers – those skills are reflected in one experienced business writer.
Of course it’s great when a writer is already familiar with the content or subject matter that is the focus of the website. But that is not always the case when you’re a business writer. Some contracts require more research and discussion with the client than others.
That’s the nature of our work environment as business writers. The longer you work in this field the more attuned you are at grasping the expectations of the client and their intended audience. When you are a writer at a PR firm or a company you adjust to the needs of your client and changing objectives, content focus, etc. – whatever is needed to meet business goals.
Some projects/accounts will require more feedback or guidance from the client than others. The good thing is once that first job is successfully done, the relationship is there between the website owner and their writer for hire. You will now have a writer that understands your needs.
You essentially have someone that can capture your voice and reach your audience with very little direction from you. That leaves you free to tend to other important needs of your business that require owner participation.
I hope that answers your question. My apologies for the delay – I didn’t see your response until today.
