Fortunately that is a great time for me as well. But I was considering doing an additional evening event ocassionally – not to replace the Tuesday time slot, but perhaps once a month I could choose an evening slot to host an event too. I’m keeping it open and giving it some consideration.

So just to put my two cents in : Please don’t switch them to the evenings. (But I entirely understand the difficulty of the current time for other people.)

I would love to, but my children are home in the evenings, and their schedules keep me on the go after school hours. I’ll keep my eyes peeled for an opportunity to do that though, particularly in the New Year, and see what I can do

All this talk about BANS, I was just about to pull out my credit card & buy it when I remembered … I already bought it, over a year ago! I used it as an add-on for a sadly neglected site that may not be worth the effort to revive (not the fault of BANS, just a too-small & under-monetizable niche).

It’s a tribute to their customer service that they were able to find my account and send me a download link to get the updated manual & files.

If you want fast & easy, I would start with BANS. As you know, I have my hands in most of those same honeypots… and I cant recommend BANS highly enough for a quick start.

Regardless though, you are right – you have to pick just ONE and go with it start to finish. That’s the only real way to succeed!

My dart site is monetized by NetShops, which pays 10-12% commission on product sales.

The musical instruments site is monetized by eBay, which pays a small percentage of eBay’s profit per sale. I intend to add products from other affiliate programs as well down the road, of course – but the core of the site is based around eBay’s affiliate program.

You could easily add a blog to your BANS site. You could easily add a BANS store to your current website or blog.

My initial response would be: Static Blogging for a site you are more personally involved with, BANS for creating quick niche affiliate sites in ANY niche. But thats not really true – as both offer so much functionality you could go either way with that…

I suppose – since you’ve called me out on this lol – I would have to say that BANS is easier. More for the newbie, and also much quicker for actual development. Static Blogging is more complex, but it also offers more perks (feeds, commenting, all that cool Web 2.0 stuff).

To use your darts site as an example again: Would darts have been a good niche for a BANS eBay affiliate site? If you were creating the site today, would you do it that way instead?

I suspect that one aspect of the decision is the commission rate … for one of the niches I’m hoping to develop, I have a vendor that pays 20% of the item cost as an affiliate commission.

Even allowing for the value of the eBay brand name, I imagine that I’d have trouble selling enough product through eBay at a lower commission rate to make up that difference.

But I’m still curious to know if there are other factosr you’d consider when choosing whether or not to use BANS in a given nice.

Thanks for your post above. Ironically most of the questions in today’s webinar WERE about the BANS product! Deciding between that and Static Blogging comes down to what you want to create. Obviously you see that I am using both – and I have plenty more sites behind the scenes on a variety of models.

BANS is great for creating a niche affiliate site around eBay’s affiliate program. StaticBlogging is great for developing ANY kind of website. Whether it is a sales site, an affiliate site, a content site… you name it. It is more of a website with blog features, or a blog with website features.

BANS, on the other hand, is for creating affiliate sites around certain product categories. While you could easily add other affiliate programs and products, and plenty of content pages, its not really set up like a blog at all.

I love them both – but each for their individual features in creating specific types of sites!
