PubCon 2006
Twice a year WebmasterWorld puts on a Conference called PubCon. This year the Spring event is being held in Boston, MA at the Hynes Convention Center. I have never attended one of the PubCon conferences… so I’ve decided to pack up & go!
Malcolm Gladwell is the Keynote Speaker for this event. I wasnt personally familiar with him, or with his books, but I’ve heard enough great things about both to get me excited about hearing him speak. In fact, I went ahead and ordered two of his books from Amazon.com so that I could get a feel for what this guy is about.
I expect they’ll arrive at the first of the week. These are the two that I ordered:
Rae Hoffman will also be speaking at PubCon this year, so I am looking forward to that. Rae is well known as a highly successful Affiliate Marketer, and an expert SEO. And by me, she’s also known as a great friend
I am planning to fly into Boston on Monday April 17th, and return on Friday April 21st. I am still finalizing my trip plans, but I believe I’ve decided to stay at the Hotel Commonwealth just a few blocks from the Hynes.
For more information on the event, and to see a line-up of the speakers and topics, go to: http://www.pubcon.com/ .
Let me know if you’re planning to be there – I’d love to meet some of you in person! And if there are any other ladies flying solo, send me a note if you’re interested in sharing a room for the week. With prices around the $300/night range, and double queens in most, it makes sense to find a rooming partner

DARN … Bad timig for me.
SOOOO close to home here in Rhode Island. Wish I had known about this earlier but alas … I’ll will be going out to Southern California to visit family around that time.
Would have liked to meet ya and say Hi! Maybe next time …
Not often any of these types of conferences/seminars are in my region.
But that should be a good time to be in Boston as the weather “should” be pretty decent. Boston is a GREAT city to visit.

Ahhh – what a shame! Have a great trip to Cali, tho – and I’ll keep my ear to the ground for another event on the east coast!
Great to hear from you!

Hey Lynn,
.
I’m a lady flying solo – still looking for a roomie? If so, e-mail me – I’d love to attend PubCon and almost forgot about it until I read this entry

Update!
My two books arrived TODAY! Gosh, Amazon is fast
Also, Chrissie and I will be rooming together – so that offer is closed
. We roomed together at the AbestWeb Affiliate Marketing Conference in Vegas awhile back, so it will be a fun reunion!
Post if you’re planning to be there – we can set a time & place to all meet up!

Well, I LIVE near there…
Unless I win GoodKarma’s last contest drawing, I’m afraid I won’t be attending.

[...] Finally! I’m referring to my flight to Boston for PubCon next month, by the way. [...]
[...] So, when I read that Lynn was heading off to PubCon and was looking for a roomie, I decided to take the plunge and hope for the best. I feel a little guilty because my planning wasn’t as involved as Lynn’s. [...]
Sounds Great. Wish I could go. With a 2yr old and 3 teenagers at home, not a good idea to head to Boston. Wish I would have know about the Vegas thing. That’s where I am. Let me know if you hear of anything in Vegas.
Have a safe Trip & Have Fun.
Actually, there is a PubCon event in Vegas in November! Hopefully we’ll see you there this fall

Cool! I’m not sure the best time to set that up, so let me get with the girls and also look over the schedule for the conference & we’ll figure something out.

[...] The trip to Boston was wonderful. It was definitely an “experience”, to say the least . Attending my first PubCon was the highlight of course, but I also enjoyed seeing the city. [...]
