Great discussion. I was directed here by another ‘guru’ Mark Joyner, through his Blogging course. I’m slow on the draw, but quick to see the real thing. Thanks, Lynn, for being the real thing, an IMA! I like that term too and really enjoyed John Reese’s video.

I am passionate about learning Internet Marketing and have been painstakingly moving in the direction of setting up a viable business model that can work in my life well. As I come to see the AHA’s of each step as I take action, it feels good.

This is one of those AHA’s -I do have resources to offer the Internet Marketing Community, even if I’m not interested in becoming a guru. It’s a matter of uncovering those things and packaging them in a way to assist others to find their path to success, a niche within a niche. Sound right to others here?

It’s quite clear that John is subtly encouraging the disillusioned to stick with the so-called Internet Marketing Niche. A quick search on google will reveal that IM is no longer a niche. He is right though, money can still be made from it. It’s just a little bit more difficult with the increased competition.

I am one of those who really love this guy called John Reese and utterly believe him. I like the fact that he thinks outside the box and share incredibly profitable tactics free of charge.

The â€œshocking videoâ€ was not much of shock to me because it revealed that IM is profitable, but because he further laden his claim by shattering the myths weâ€™ve been fed all along by the same people who are secretly makes money from IM niches.

Iâ€™d watched part of the video and felt Iâ€™ve seen all because itâ€™s so enchanting. But I will go watch everything once again and some more. Thanks for sharing Lynn â€“ I mean Lynn the Internet Marketing ADVISOR!

I agree with Kara about wanting to buy a product created by someone who knows what they’re doing.

But, if I’m searching google.com for information about starting an ebay business, land on your website, which has great reviews about ebay products, and your affiliate link then I don’t see anything wrong with that.

If you’re an affiliate marketer and you’re simply providing content and recommendations then I don’t think that is rocket science nor do you need to be an expert.

However, if you do want to make your own product then I would only buy from someone I know is (or believe to be) successful and someone I trust.

Great points, Kara. And maybe now is a good time to repeat a bit about my own history (for those that are new to my sites)…

I started out in a service-based business and managed an international web team. I personally did web development, small business consulting, marketing plans, and related services for local businesses – prior to offering my services online. I also did on-site computer training, was a Professional Advisor for Intuit and worked directly with small and home-based businesses, and partnered in 2 wholesale companies to PowerSeller status.

I’m starting my 12th year in business, and have only been in “Internet Marketing” and working as an affiliate marketer in this industry for the last few years.

Hi Lynn,

Interesting post-I have always wondered too why folks would say don’t enter the Internet Marketing arena. But both Nell and Lynn makes some valid points. However, my thinking is that it would be impossible for that niche to be saturated and it keeps things competitive. The video was somewhat surprising which had my attention-price tag for me is WHOA!
