It was guaranteed, no?

I wrote back on Feb 2nd 2008 my disappointment in the John Reese IMA course. To update you as you asked. The disappointment went all the way to the end. It was not that the course had bad information, it just had very litte substance for experienced marketers. He sent out the advertisement to sign up for the course to his long time followers of his Reese Report and other products along, with newby Internet followers. He promised hard core stuff, right to the point, no crap and delivered marshmellows that took over double the time to deliver! Had I been a brand new Internet Marketer I would have been raving all over myself. But frankly the stuff he delivered was for the first year marketer, someone who does not understand business at all or anything about the Internet. An 8-5er with to much money and no knowledge of being an entrepreneurial business person. The questions he chose to answer were from gitty people obviously not well versed with entrepreneurial skills. For me he lost a very loyal very long term customer. I have spent over $1,200.00 a year with him for the past 3 years. The cost of the course was outragous for the information given infact a hugh insult, to experienced followers. So all you marketers out there. What I did learn! There is always something good in everything, here it is! Divide courses into blocks or segments, or offer more than one course. But never put your old time customers lumped into your brand new customers and try to market to them all, at one time, through one course. Never focus on making new money while ignoring old money. Your old money (old customers) are your foundation new money (new customers) come and go. After 25 years of business this I know for a fact!

I noticed that as well.

I believe it was in 2006 or early 2007 that I vaguely remember the e-mail coming through. I tried to dig through my Gmail archives with no luck — he’s sent out quite a bit of mailings in that time.

Of course, I could be wrong or just misinterpreted his message.

Thanks for giving us your review on the IMA course. I was curious how it was going, as I hadnt heard anything at all – which I thought was odd.

I assume you attended the other 2 days as well? If so, would love to know if you walked away with a better perception or still disappointed?

Got in the class. He commented on the last few minutes of the first day after 4.5 hours of rambling he still had 60 people signed in. Many refunds that day and if it would have been left open for refunds the next day he would not have enough left to teach. Horrible course! One major mistake! He marketed to his educated list and is giving a kindergarten course. To bad what a waist of money. I hope he reads this and pulls his head out and gets off the “John Reese” show and delivers some top quality information.

I don’t know if you’d be interested in this or not but another major Internet Mrktg guru, Frank Kern, is offering a major course, I think it’s on Feb 1st or 2nd, and he has a bunch of FREE Videos on Mass Control and inside info on The Biggest Launches in Internet Marktg History which leads into the signup for the Main Course, 30 Days To Mass Control video course. But as you’ve said Lynn, it could all be for the best — it’s important to stick with one thing, especially in the early stages, before bouncing to another.

Also, Kendra, John Reese is a very well respected marketer who’s enjoyed quite a bit of success in the IM field.

I can’t remember when it was, but a while ago, John sent out a newsletter that he was no longer putting affiliate recommendations in his newsletters/mailings. That meant anything he told his list about was something he genuinely believed in and not because of the monetary compensation he would receive.

It was a bold move indeed, but it also make me realize that he is at a place where he doesn’t need to peddle every “hot new product” that comes rolling down the line. It’s also one of the things that’s kept me subscribed to his list, too.
