BABB-9: Offer A Free Service To Your Blog Readers

Be A Better Blogger (BABB Series), Day 9:

Day 9. Offer a free service to your readers (without expecting anything in return)
Whether it’s a logo redesign, free post ideas, a design review, social media votes or 15 minutes worth of free consulting, giving something valuable away for free without expecting anything in return will leave a lasting impression on your readers (and might attract a few links, too)…

Today’s task will take a little creative thinking in order to come up with a service that you can offer your readers. Try to put yourself in their shoes and figure out what your target market wants or needs the most. Then come up with an offer that meets their needs.

If you are coming up blank, go to discussion forums in your niche and make note of the most popular threads there – the posts with the most views, or the posts with the most replies – and you should be able to make a small list to work with.

Your offer will make a great featured post too, so consider putting a link & blurb in your sidebar.

I would love to hear your thoughts on this, and the ideas you come up with. You can leave a comment below – and feel free to leave a link to your free offer there as well so we can all check them out ;)

Best,

  1. This is a really great course though I know I am going to take much longer than 31 days to get it all done. I did though add a picture to my last post. YAY me lol!

I am sure it will take me longer as well, but there are some really good ideas here to work with… so its a list I’ll be referring back to often!
