Like you the concept of a place like twitter isn’t new but it is easy to use. I myself had similar thoughts of the “time suck” issue which god only knows right now I don’t have.

I signed up a while ago and actually only started using late last night. People just started following me so I figured I better start using it

The cool thing is you can chat with marketers in a “not so” stuffy setting make friends and learn about each other. In marketing socializing and getting to know others can be a big part for your business, even if you’re not talking “business.

I’m just starting to use Twitter more and more – although sometimes I find it challenging to write tweet anything very interesting!

Great post and solid thought-process on how it’s a useful business tool.

I am amazed at how open people are to adding as followers, and it’s a great way to interact with some pretty influential folks in the IM world!

Hey Lynn. It took me a while to get into Twitter and even then I wasn’t using it like I should.

Then Ed Dale introduced me to Twhirl and now I can have my Twitter account open all the time and it’s so much easier to keep up with it.

It’s pretty cool to meet friends I haven’t talked to in ages, like yourself.

I agree Jared, and have had similar thoughts – and yes, have even dreamed about it! The world is becoming smaller and more transparent by the day it seems. It will be very interesting indeed to see the next decade unfold…

I would like to point out, that I was the first person you followed… that’s sort of a milestone you never forget.

Anyway, I am a huge fan of twitter it has helped me more than double attention on my blog. But at the same time i have to admit, I am a bit frightened of it. Things change so quickly, and it really is revolutionary on so many levels. As many commentators here have already said, the networking potential is unparalleled. But it leaves me wondering… what next?

Not to mention it can haunt your dreams.

Lynn, it was great meeting you @ Live 5, and I’ve also decided that Twitter isn’t a complete waste of time, *if* you do it right. Your post on that is a great starting point for Twitterphobes.

We had hundreds of members who didn’t attend the event, but a lot of them were following several of the “Twits” on the faculty while they twitted away on the stage. Even funnier that you tweeted at Dave while he was up there.
