Free Webinar on Social Marketing Today
If you stopped by ClickNewz over the weekend, or if you have been following me on Twitter then you already know that I just got home from the StomperNet event in Atlanta.
One of the hot topics throughout the conference was Social Marketing – and specifically, how to use the Web 2.0 social sites (like Facebook, Twitter, Pownce, MySpace, etc) to gain exposure and drive traffic to your websites.
That’s what we are going to discuss today in the Free Webinar at Noon EST. I want to share with you just how important it is that you get into Social Marketing NOW – and why this is the one thing you should be paying serious attention to in 2008. This event is open discussion style, and all questions and topics related to Social Marketing are welcomed.
All you have to do is Register for the Free Webinar so you can get the username and password details for todays event.
See you there!

Update: There is a video I want to share with you, by Dave Taylor – who was also at the StomperNet conference I attended this weekend. For those of you that attended todays webinar, you’ll enjoy this relevant addition to our discussion:

Hi Lynn – great informational webinar today! I love the fact that you have “converted” to using Twitter and Facebook – and I look forward to learning more from you as you move through it! I have had a Twitter and Facebook account for a short time and am still learning to navigate and figure out how best to utilize it. Thanks as always for being such a great teacher and providing tons of great info!
Yours in networking,
Carol Deckert
Lynn,
Thanks for another awesome webinar today! Yes, lets please have a Part II to this. My head is spinning but in a good way.
Michelle

Great Webinar! Thank you.
And in the middle of it I finally joined twitter. Can’t wait to get fully involved. Facebook is next.
Here’s to being more social!

Awesome webinar today…I was a bit scatterbrained so I missed quite a bit (tending to 4 kids running wild). BUT, I signed up for a twitter account as a result AND resubmitted my products to Google Base (something I let slip for almost 5 months!). Thanks…I look forward to re-listening to the webinar if possible.
Great webinar today. I enjoyed all the social networking tips and techniques you shared.
But Lynn, about those polls. When we get kicked off due to poll taking, we lose the chat log with the great links you share. So I vote for no more polling.
I’ve developed this into a political chant. To the tune of *Yes, We Can.*
Thank you.
No more polls.
Judith
Terrific as usual – glad I took up Ed Dale’s advice and got tweeted up today so I could join in. just joined Facebook too and I’d like to neaten up my page address too.
going wide is fine if and only if you have a good plan in place and time to do the extra things!
Very convincing though – it is really a new type of SEO – Social Engagement Optimisation – Hey that sounds good!
Tee hee!

Lynn,
Nice informative session today about the social marketing stuff. Twitter is kool but still trying to understand using Facebook. Still playing around with it as I get time. Trying to figure it out! LOL
But Twitter I really like so far.

I loved the webinar! I started using Twitter last week along with you Lynn, and am loving it, lol. I have had a Facebook profile for quite some time now, but have been at a lost as to what to do with it,
So that is my vote for next week’s topic, lol. ‘How to use Facebook and its myriad of choices to make some friends’
Alex, I love the new meaning to SEO now,
I’m in the same boat, Stacie & Rick – Twitter came easy, Facebook still has me scratching my head! I did get a message from Ed Dale through Facebook this morning though, so that personal connection alone made me see some potential there.
For Facebook, I’m going to have to refer you to the Queen: Rae Hoffman, aka Sugarrae. Check out these links – but be forewarned she uses colorful language

Thanks Lynn, will check those out! I’ll just put my censor glasses on to read it, lol.
Lynn,
Had a great time at the webinar… so glad I stuck around for the “after party”! Great information and you explained out in simple terms.
Facebook took a little getting use to, and can be a pretty big “time suck” (to use your phrase) if you’re not careful. But, the networking possibilities are tremendous. Not sure right now which one is better that way… twitter or facebook… but it’s fun finding out!
Keep up the amazing work!
Thank you, Tim
Twitter gets my vote all the way. Its fast, simple, and up-to-the-minute. People are updating via mobile device so I can see who is where and doing what at any given time. Facebook is not quite as current, but great for networking and communicating with people in your network (outside of email, which seems to be a dying trend – finally!)…

Mari Smith has some great resources on Facebook so I recommend you look her up on Facebook and Twitter – http://profile.to/marismith/
Lynn,
since you now have a Facebook connection with Ed Dale why not ask him to a Tuesday webinar?

Hi , Sorry I couldn’t join on on this webinar yesterday. Is there a way to get the content after the fact?
Thanks!
I wasn’t able to access the webinar. For some reason the password I got this morning would not work. I did a copy/paste and also typed it in several times. I’m sure it was a great webinar. I’ve been wanting to learn more about Twitter.
I did decide to go ahead and start a Twitter account today. Maybe we should do a little Twitter sharing? Lynn… what do you think about everyone posting their new twitter site?
LOL @Dan!
Lynn, Thanx for those links!

Welcome back from the StomperNet event, Lynn! I was thinking about you and knew you must be really enjoying!!!!
Thanks for sharing this Dave Taylor video, Lynn! It is interesting to know how others organize their time. His “thirds” strategy is a good one.
The only thing I wasn’t sure from what he said was the amount of time he devotes to Twitter and FB, etc — does he in essence lump that time allotment into his blogging timeframe?
As probably everyone on FB and other social media platforms knows, that time can turn into a huge time investment by swallowing up quite a lot! I’m on a mission this year to really get an effective plan established to efficiently cover the bases. You have shared insight into how you schedule your days, Lynn — that has been helpful and encouraging!
Thanks for everything!

I think that time management is going to be unique to each of us, so its important to find what works best for you. And even that may change as your business grows or your circumstances change.
For some guidance in that area, I highly recommend Julie Morgenstern: Time Management From The Inside Out (all about what works best for you).
I sent Dave Taylor a message so perhaps he’ll get time to stop by and add his 2c as well

Great book, Lynn. I think I need to pull it out and give it a fresh read.
Based on the last few weeks it appears that Twitter actually occupies the 4/3 of my day!
having said that, I spend very little time on Facebook and even less on MySpace… I think that the key is to “establish an outpost” on all the different services and then use those that resonate best with your own work and communication style. Oh, and you can find me at http://twitter.com/DaveTaylor
Hello Mr. Dave Taylor. Good to see you here.
You truly are everywhere!
( And as of yesterday, I’m following you on Twitter – scary eh?) lol
How’s the knitting going?
