Internet Marketing Recap for May 2008

May was a super-busy month in the Internet Marketing niche. Interesting too, because over the years major launches and events have generally occurred in the fall or late winter. It seems the Internet Marketer's have a bit of Spring Fever this year! Here is a brief recap of the latest happenings...

Joel Comm's first edition of the Top 1% Report was mailed out. This 16-page magazine-style report + CD package was offered to those who purchased Joel's Adsense Secrets during the April 2008 relaunch. The first recurring payment was billed on June 1st.

Stompernet re-opened for the first time in a year. The re-opening event was complete with free tools & videos, and a competitive affiliate contest, in true IM launch-style.

Alice Seba released a free Headline Writing Guide which also includes practical headline starters. This free download precedes the 4-week intensive program she is launching in early June.

Scott Boulch is back with a brand new free download titled The Internet Marketing Cure. You'll be hearing more from me on this one 😉

Doug Hudiburg released iMOS, which is his personal mind map and blueprint for creating & launching info products successfully. You can download Doug's mind map tool for only $1.

Russell Brunson launched Affiliate Evolution which details his method for multiplying affiliate commissions. You can get it all for only $10. Note: UNcheck the upgrade box on the order page before checkout. (There is a 2-tier affiliate program for this product launch).

Armand Morin released a video on PersuasionX. This is his new Speaker Training, and is a high-end program for those that want to earn from speaking at events, hosting teleseminars, etc.

Frank Kern posted a new video on a "Paid For Life" business model, which details his methods for generating a passive recurring revenue.

Jim Edwards and Armand Morin hosted a live 3-day Webinar on May 6th, 7th & 8th on More Website Traffic. Replays and transcripts are available for the same cost as live event: $297.

The Problogger Book SOLD OUT in May 2008, after being released just a few weeks before. Darren Rowse and Chris Garrett co-author this book. I got my copy early 😀

Michelle MacPhearson, author of Social Media Daily, hosted a live webinar alongside Alejandro Reyes titled Changing How You Use Social Media. You can watch the replay here (free).

Eben Pagan was featured on a live Teleclass Interview on May 28th to discuss the Guru Mastermind program. Several "Gurus" were on that call - Frank Kern, Jason Potash, etc. You can listen to the replay here. I missed it, but Frank had stated beforehand that he was planning to embarrass Eben on the call...

Yaro Starak published a tutorial on Buying & Selling Blogs in your spare time. This is a great blueprint for anyone interested in the basics of "flipping sites" for money.

Willie Crawford gave away a report titled The Super Secret Weapon that outlines his strategy for more JVs, more sales & more success.

Jonathan Leger launched ShareAPost.com, a new service for sharing blog content. You can find full details about this new service on his blog.

Jonathan also launched the beta network for AutoMarker, which is a network of people helping each other get traffic through social bookmarking. At last check, there were 96 beta accounts remaining.

Jeff Johnson launched an SEO Blog Installer, which was not very well received initially. Jason Potash attempted to clear the air with a phonecall, which was recorded and made publicly available.

Michel Fortin published a must-read article for anyone that offers Phone Consultations. If you are in a service-based business of ANY kind, see: Phone Calls Can Kill Your Copywriting Business

    Hi Lynn,

Ed Dale started preseason for this year's Thirty Day Challenge yesterday, June 1st. If you missed it, you can catch it here: http://www.thirtydaychallenge.com

The Thirty Day Challenge officially starts on August 1st, but it's smart to get ready by participating in Preseason fun as well -- especially if you haven't done the Challenge before.

    Cheers,
    Linda

  2. Sally Neill says

    Hi Lynn,

My first visit to your blog and I notice you certainly have your ear to the ground when it comes to product launches.

A great resource, well done, Sally 🙂

  3. Great addition Linda!

Thank you Sally. Welcome to ClickNewz 😀
There are a lot of great affiliate opps in the recap list, in addition to some good free resources. Enjoy!

  4. More like her heart to the ground!

    Lynn Rocks!

  5. Thank you Elijah 😉

  6. Lynn,

You're so right about the launches. There's never been this many in such a short time.
There have never been so many expensive ones either.
Yes, a lot of value there and so much OVERLOAD. I think this is disastrous to online marketing. Total confusion always is.
Yes, we should be smart enough to pick through the junk...Unfortunately we all are not, and I do include myself in there.
When you reach the $10,000.00 level for a few 2 day live seminars and some teleseminars scattered throughout the year that's when I start to question our sheep mentality. I’m certainly not trying to degrade anyone’s intelligence.
Many colleges charge about that same amount for a full year.
Question to all: How high do you think we will see these online classes going in the next few years?
    Jim

  7. Great points, and good question Jim. I had a reason for outlining the "May Madness" here in this post. In addition to being a great resource list... It was leading up to my latest post titled The Current State of Internet Marketing:

    A hot topic indeed...

  8. The Secret Affiliate Code launches Thursday, June 19th at 12:00 noon.

  9. Well, it looks like Jeff Johnson has the latest launch du jour. It’s a little hard to decipher but as close as I can tell you can get his new program for around $17,000.00 for about a year. You might get 14 months for that I’m not sure.

Same question as earlier: I wonder what the upper limit will be on these programs?

    Jim

  10. Wow Jim - $17k, huh? Interesting...

  11. and don't forget the fab Shelancers, for Female freelancers was launched !! 😉 http://www.shelancers.com
