Hi Jack,
I'm not familiar with AutomateYourList myself, so I can't comment or compare on that service vs Aweber. Aweber is the industry leader in email management, and as you mentioned it's the one I use and recommend. Almost everyone I know is using Aweber, and stays with them, so that must mean something ;)

I have a link where you can get a free trial if you want to sign in and take it for a test drive: http://sswt.aweber.com

Lynn,
I watched Michael's free Mini-Site vids and was quite impressed with the info depth offered in this very elaborate free vidcourse. Much of what is in it can be applied to more "general" Affiliate Marketing in addition to Mini-Sites.
A couple comment/questions on it and the above comments to your post:

1.I expect that the repeated OTO mails Alan above got are most likely Michael's list in action, responding as its autoresponder script is set up to do-the comment should also be addressed to him, so if it's a glitch, he can correct it. This leads to my next question:
2. MIchael promotes AutomateYourList.com, which has a lot of good features-can you rate it compared to Aweber, which you, my new mentor, Opportunity.com, and many other Internet Marketers recommend.
I'd appreciate your thoughts on that and do look forward to the next Webinar, as well as your most helpful AM postings.

Lynn,

This is such a useful review! Thank you for taking time to boil it all down to its essence for us. It helps knowing the content details beyond his brief descriptions before sign up. I'd already signed up before you posted this. (Sorry.) In fact, I think I asked you about it, to begin with, didn't I? I am glad you made your evaluation public.

Thanks again for providing us with valuable information WE CAN USE to make informed decisions.

Elijah,

As Dennis pointed out, the upgrade itself wasn't the problem. Michael is trying to make a living like the rest of us, and I have no problem with him offering a free course and trying to promote an upgrade. That's standard practice, and perfectly acceptable.

What I don't like is being lied to. I was given TWO, not one, hard sells on the OTO, both of which told me explicitly that I would NEVER get this offer again. I declined both, and was immediately taken to the member area where I see a permanent link offering the upgrade.

He has done this before actually. I signed up for another of his free video series some months ago, and the same thing happened. I didn't like it then.

This is NOT commenting on the quality of the free material. As I said, my only previous experience of his material was VERY positive, and I fully expect this one to be as good. He really does deliver, and I'm sure his paid-for upgrades are worth the money. I just don't like dishonesty.

At least he could have held off with the upgrade link in the member area for a few weeks, then sent me an e-mail telling me that due to excessive demand, he is making the upgrade option available. That might not have been true either, but at least it looks a little more honest.

Anyway, I don't want to knock him as he does produce top-notch stuff, but I am getting increasingly disturbed by the amount of dishonest and misleading practice in the IM world. This was just the latest example.

He wasn't complaining at all about the upgrade, but rather the flat out lie portrayed in "you will never see this again".

Excellent review Lynn! I will save this for sure, for when I'm ready to spend some time and watch.

@Alan

I can see where your coming from with the "upgrade" option being squeezed in... But on the flip side, imagine how much time Michael put into making those videos. I know for a fact that we're talking probably a week of solid work just to get the video slides and audio up to par...

I don't know Michael personally, but I do know that every person has the right to capitalize from their hard work. He is giving away 12 videos, so for him to provide an "upgraded" version only seems proper to me.

They are great by the way! I've never really studied too much on the mini-site side of IM, the video's are very informative and I even managed to sit my fiance down and watch the videos as a good introduction to what the hell I'm always ranting about.

Many thanks Lynn.

Thanks for posting the review Lynn, looks like some great info.

One thing that bothers me though is whatever happened to integrity? I realise he's doing this to make money, no problem. So, you sign up for the free course and are offered the "you'll never see this again" OTO. I was a bit annoyed when I said no, and was whacked with another "you'll never see this again either" pitch for the OTO. Hey, I already said I didn't want it, OK?

That wouldn't be so bad, but when you finally get to the members' area, what do you see but a link to upgrade to the OTO version!

I wasn't very impressed with that. I have no problem with him trying to flog me an upgrade (within reason), but don't lie to me and tell me I'll never get the chance again, then immediately offer me the chance again.

My previous experience of Michael Rasmussen's stuff was positive enough that I'm still going to stick with it, but I don't like the lack of integrity.

Just my 2c.

Thanks Lynn - I already opted in for access to the videos but it's always tough to make time to watch and read everything I get my hands on.

Your great video by video reviews will help me to make sure that I watch the ones that I need the most right now.

Appeciate it!

Just use the link above to check out the videos for yourself. They are free.

@Amin - A good in-depth course on a specific topic is great because it gives people from all levels an opportunity to learn the pieces & parts they want help with (if not ALL of it) - and at their own pace.

I agree the balance is "tricky", but over-delivering is certainly not a bad thing.
