No, Lynn, you're not the only one and it's not a second list, since Matt and Frank did that video together and Matt wrote the sales letter for one of Frank's launches.

If you've followed Frank's latest launch, the "giveaway" for shipping and handling, of a bunch of DVDs, his latest thing is using negative subject lines to get people to open emails. I've had a whole rash of those from marketers jumping on yet another band wagon. I commend those with some creativity who are less overt in their imitation of Frank's technique.

I think the conversion secrets might have been a "warm up" for this latest Kern launch.

Just MHO. Nothing to back it up but gut feelings and lots of emails...

I ended up receiving some great emails from the 10conversionsecrets.com website, between June 23rd and July 3rd .

But between August 11-18, I've received 4 emails ("bad news...", "i'm sorry", etc) directly from Matt Trainer. I dont recall signing up for a second list. Am I the only one, or are the rest of you experiencing the same?

Hi All,

I just wanted to chime in due to so many internet marketers turning of words and taking them the wrong way. It was a fun read. It is difficult when things are taken out of context and made to look another way. (just ask any celebrity).

My thoughts were really about Matt Trainer. I was trying to find him when I stumbled upon this blog. (Once again, side tracked from work at hand).

Again, glad to see that everyone was able to represent their point of view and the battle ended in piece.

Piece to all of you and wish the world could resolve issues this quickly and easily.

Hi Lynn,
I’m not trying to beat a dead horse here but I thought this might be of interest to you and the other readers that were following this thread.

The website that I have attached to this post has been up for about one year. It has never been higher than page 5 on Google and that was for about 1 day, then back to page 10 to 15.

I don’t use any PPC, just article marketing through ezinearticle.com, article marketer and a couple of the others.

Earlier in this thread I made some remarks about Frank Kern. Frank later stopped by and read all the post and had some comments of his own. He actually pointed out to me a couple of things that he saw wrong on my website.

I made the changes that he spoke of 7 days ago. I just looked at Google a few minutes ago and my site is number 6 on page 1.

Frank, if you happen to stop by and read this I would like to thank you for your advice, you are truly a gentleman.

Thank you also Lynn,

Lynn,

I signed up. I know Frank does quality stuff. (That's the technical term...) So it was a no-brainer decision.

Great concept. Placement is everything.

Welcome To My World Lynn!

I know what it feels like to try to make a simple point - and then get hammered by readers who are determined to use your post as a diving board for a personal attack.

It sure brings in a lot of comments, though, huh?

I TOTALLY get what you said and it's a very valid point - you are a good reviewer and since subscribing to your blog - I've found myself coming here to read your stuff.

OH GREAT - another good blog to read! LOL

Frank Kern is Teflon - nothing bad really sticks to him because:

1. He truly cares about his readers/viewers/peeps and he is unapologetic in his chosen style.

2. He is very good about showing up and fading any heat - quickly - just as he did here.

3. He makes a dandy case for personal alignment and authenticity.

You do these things too, Lynn. And, that is one of the reasons I've started following ya...

Hey Lynn,

I like the approach that you took with promoting this free report. While everyone else was saying, "You've got to check out this video", you were saying, "Don't check out the video, just download the actual report."

I also agree about the long drawn out videos. There have been quite a few promotions lately and many of them direct you to a video message first.

The problem is that most of these videos are over 30 minutes long. I don't have 30 minutes to sit and watch a video. I'm trying to cut down on distractions.

Get to the point and then send me to your sales page. Or break it up into smaller chunks. I find 9 minutes and 57 seconds is my threshold.

May I suggest a topic for a future blog post... "Effective Ways To Leave Comments On Blog Posts"

If you are going to leave a comment on someone's blog post, make sure that you contribute something of value or at least stir up some controversy.

Comments like, "Way to go", or "I love your stuff", really don't get recognized.

Obviously we take comments on our blog seriously. Frank didn't pop by out of the blue.

I've actually found some great joint venture partners because of a comment that they left on my blog. This person tried to contact me through email, but got lost among the daily mess called my inbox. But when they left a high quality and informative comment on my blog post with a relevant link back to one of their blog posts, I ended up contacting them.

Choose your words carefully.

Lynn, you've definitely created a great community here. The key is your thought provoking posts. They always encourage discussion and participation.

Thanks for your honest recommendation of the 10 conversion secrets and for the heads up with the video. It's good to know that there is quality content and I'll try to watch it in chunks.

I look forward to what you'll teach us tomorrow.

Frank,

I've been a fan of yours since Jim Edwards grilled you a couple of years back, before you moved to California even. I love your sense of humor and irreverence for almost anything, including yourself.

It can't easy being someone who actually cares about a lot of things and yet comes across as not taking much of anything seriously. That couldn't possibly be the case, however, since you're obviously crazy like a fox and incredibly successful.

Catch the waves, surfer dude. You've earned it.

Deb Gallardo

P.S. - Thank goodness everyone has kissed and made up. I hate conflict. On the other hand, controversy creates a lot of interest. Way to go, Lynn!

Hi Jason,

I agree with you 100%. My remarks were totally inappropriate. I first heard the remarks (long haired, maggot infested, dope smoking hippies) from a radio talk show guy that is known for his sometimes poor humor.

In my attempt at poor humor I used the same remarks toward Frank and thought it was somewhat humorous. Right up to the point that I pushed the send button. And the rest is history. Can’t un-send it.

Jim

Hello Frank,

First off, my sincerest apologies to you for my remarks. I have read and listened too much of what you have taught over the years and find it to be very professional.

You could have very easily slammed me “up side” the head hear on this blog. However, you chose to give me a helpful critique of my site. That’s not something that I see a lot of.

Again, please accept my apology and my thanks,

Jim

Hi Lynn,

My apologies to you for being a “Jack Ass” on your blog.

Hey guys,

I try to peer pressure Frank into naughty stuff all the time, but believe it or not, he's more into getting high from his Hippy Smoothies he makes everyday. That and taking big hits of Oxygen and Salt Water when he's beating his face into some Pacific Ocean waves. He's the best underwater gymnast I've ever seen! No kidding.

While most of us boys do like to party and have a good time, Jim is painting a totally unfair picture, and to be honest is just being somewhat of a jackass.

Calling us "maggot infested" and dope smoking hippies?

That's pretty below the belt Jim.

Everything I've witnessed Frank do in the past few years were targeted to help people, and enrich their lives.

And much of that has nothing to do with internet marketing either.

So while you spew trash on blogs, and try to act holier then thou, I'll be out surfing with my billaBONG suit on and will feast on the nice tasting maggots crawling out my rear. Cuz after all, I'll probably have the munchies right?

Truth is, surfing, raw foods, and great friends has actually curbed my appetite for alcohol, bad food, and even the occasional medicinal puff. You should give it a try some time Jim because whatever you are buzzing on sounds like a pretty lame time.

Peace,
