Note: this poor video doesnt do my new camera justice. I pulled it straight out of the box and started shooting – without adjusting the settings, and without removing the clear plastic off the lens (ha!). More to come on that (lol), and in the meantime…
Thanks for sharing your holiday fun, Lynn. I should be as generous to myself on Christmas as you. I suspect we’ll hear more about your Livescribe Pen. And the plastic on your camera lens seems to have acted as kind of diffusion filter to give the scene a warm Christmasy glow (I’ll remember that trick).
Happy holidays to all!
Merry Christmas and A Very Happy New Year To You Lynn….Thank you for this wonderful blog and thank you for the many ways in which you continue to inspire me.
Thanks for sharing what Christmas brought you. The video is okay. Hope you will do a review on at least the scribe pen and your new camera. It seemed to be a Merry Christmas and best wishes for a Happy and Prosperous 2009
Thanks for sharing your Christmas with us. So happy you finnally have joined the world of Video and can share your thoughts and feelings with all of us. If you did the same thing in Text, it just would not be the same. Looking forward to hearing more about the new camera. You always seem to have a beat on the latest and greatest gadgets. I did get one of the Acer computers you talked about. Do you use a Tripod for your computer when you did this video? Happy Holiday!!!
You could not possibly have reached the age your story implies you have! You’re such a cutie. If only I were 40 years younger (and not happily married!).
Trying to figure a way to get to Atlanta for the NAMS conference. Might get there yet.
Woohoo- awesome gifts- love the monkey: my kids would have a blast throwing that on each others heads-LOL
The portable DVD player looks like a great thing to use on vacation trips and long car rides too.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to y’all.
Blessings,
Eren Mckay

Yep – 35 years old. Its the plastic film over the lens… takes years off of you! LOL But I’m definitely still a kid at heart

It’d be great to see you there, Bill – keep me posted!

Hey Beverly,
You’ll love the Acer – very impressive for its size
I’m snickering at the tripod question. I really should have taken a snapshot – you guys would have a good laugh at me over that one!
I used a tall chair, from a pub-style table, to get myself high enough to have the mantle and the tree in the background. Then I stacked two coffee tables in front of me, and put the camera on a mini tripod on top of the stack of tables.
There’s more to shooting video than meets the eye. I have a growing respect for people that stage cool videos on a regular basis – its a lot of work in my opinion. From setting it up, having the content, editing the video, formatting & delivery, etc. Several hours can go into a 10 minute shoot!
And then you can screw it all up by not taking the plastic off the camera lol
Thanks Jean – I’m still testing the new camera and looking for editing software that will work with the files. Have something new to try tomorrow so will have an update on that for you guys soon
I’ve been doing video on and off for about 10 years – I just dont enjoy it. And its not the video itself, but all the work involved around getting the video to web – versus writing, which is what I enjoy better than anything
Thanks for being so honest about how you left the plastic on the lens. Again, your honesty is why I always listen to you. Best wishes and to your success in 2009.

Clear plastic on the lens? NICE… lol
I wish you more success with the pen!
Oh.
And Happy New Year Lynn to you and the kids… hope 2009 brings you continued health, happiness and success!
The videos settings can not change the quality and appearance of your genuine personality. Happy New Year.

If the video is THIS good with the clear plastic on the lens, I can’t wait to see how it looks without it.
Although, I do have to agree with Wade abut the warm, softness of the video — it was nice.
Thanks for sharing — and looking forward to more about the camera after you’ve had a chance to play with it some.
Peace — and Merry Christmas, Lynn.

Merry Christmas and best wishes for the new year.

Ah yes, the soft focus filter. You usually have to pay extra for that
