13 Years…

Ann MarieToday, my baby turns 13 years old. My daughter is my youngest child, and now a teen. It’s a special milestone for both of us, and we’re taking the weekend off to celebrate.

I quit my last real job when Ann Marie was 5 months old. And so in 5 months, I’ll also be celebrating 13 years in business.

She used to sit in my lap while I was working away on the computer, or on my hip while I talked to customers in the shop. She was practically attached to me throughout my start-up years…

I look at her today and see a smart, sassy, beautiful young woman in the making. And while somehow 13 full years went by to bring us where we are today, it feels like just yesterday I held her for the very first time.

She was the tipping point that brought me home from my 9-to-5 job, and the beginning of the path that made my life what it is today.

Being at home with and for my children, and pursuing my career at the same time, at times has been challenging. But it has always been rewarding. Looking back now, I wouldn’t change a thing…

Make every year count!

By the way, Ann Marie is a future super-affiliate. Mark my words ;)

Best,

Now you have 2 teenagers in the house. Let the fun begin! As a mom who has gone through the teenage years (and lived to tell about it), it’s hard at times, wonderful at times and sometimes you just wish they were your sweet little baby again.

When I was 13 years old, I knew nothing expect studying, and I never talked to girls, it may sounds strange, but I was that when that time, I think that I was too simple :) .

Short on words ^ LOL (but not in person! ha)

Thank you for all the kind words & nice wishes. It has been an incredible journey. I am still in shock at how 13 years could just fly by like they did… definitely makes me slow down and enjoy every minute I can before she is an adult and off on a life of her own!

As for business – every struggle, bout of frustration, and bad day… was SO worth it, just to be able to be home full-time with and for my two cool kids.

It is lovely to see such a beautiful and happy family. I think the Terry/Garret Empire is going to be a force to be reckoned with one day soon.

You’ll have to throw a 3rd name in that Empire too – my son is working for me on one of my biggest projects yet (to be revealed soon!). We all three have different last names! LOL. My son and I officially changed our names a few years ago.

You’re really a “Super Affiliate MOM”! Imagine, you’ve managed to be successful as a parent and a career woman as well. 13 years of hard work is indeed a great sacrifice on your part, but a very fulfilling one. The good thing is that you can clearly see now all the result of your sacrifices.

  30. James says:

like mother like daughter! she’s a beautiful girl, just like her mother, she’s a super affiliate in the making, following her mom’s footsteps.. is it just me or are these two planning to take over the world, online and offline?

  31. Thank you for this wonderful post. My mum is also a work from home Mum and I appreciate all the work she did for me as I was growing up.
