Suffer from Information Overload?

My friend Amel has just released her Course Into Cash System, which is specifically designed to help you gain focus and clarity in your online business.

If you click on the link above, you’ll see an offer to sign up for a free video that will help you gain focus and clarity in 5 easy steps. That content is also available as a PDF file if you prefer – and at the very least, I encourage you to read or watch that message from Amel. The first half alone was a major eye-opener in how we should be approaching our online business…

The course officially begins on Wednesday February 10th and runs for 7 weeks in a step-by-step, hands-on format. During the first four weeks, Amel walks you through:

  • The Preparation Process
  • The Planning Process
  • The Consumption Process
  • The Implementation Process

… followed up by live calls and audio training for three weeks after these modules.

Each of the sessions include actionable take-aways like systems, templates, worksheets and checklists. Unlike most courses you purchase online, this program is designed to be interactive – encouraging you to take action and walking you through to a solution.

If you’ve bought or downloaded any number of courses, guides, ebooks, or other material… only to find that you read it but don’t take action, or perhaps never complete them at all, this may very well be the program you need to get yourself into action-taking mode.

You can study, buy products, and read blogs all day long. But until you start implementing what you learn, it’s only costing you time and money. And there is a big difference between an expense and an investment.

On that note, I’m curious – how much have you spent towards your Internet Marketing education? If you had to guess, would it be hundreds? Maybe thousands? And of all the courses and guides and materials that you have purchased… how much of it have you studied beginning to end?

Better yet, how much of it did you put into practice, implement right away, all the way from “start to profit”?

I have a lot of material sitting on my hard drive too, so you’re not alone. We all do. It’s easy to become a virtual packrat. But if you really want to start an online business, or get your website to the point of consistent profit, digging in and taking the steps is the only way to make it happen.

I’m going to be following along with Amel’s course myself when it starts in February. While I am successful, productive and efficient already at this point in my business… I am always looking to improve.

And I really liked what Amel had to say in the free video that she offered at her site. It gave me a new perspective on things, a fresh way to look at how I plan and how I work. And one new idea that helps me take my business up a few notches is worth a heckuva lot to me…

    Hi Lynn,

How much have I spent? It has to be upwards of $1,000.00, perhaps double or triple that… over the past 4 years!

On that note, I just bought a $47 product last week that I haven’t yet opened- I actually only bought it because I was networking with the producer, and he sent me a personal email. Anyway, I promised myself, no more purchases until Summer! I have plenty of knowledge to keep me busy implementing things until then!

  3. Raviaa says:

I didn’t know there’s an actual Preparation Process prior the planning process. I think most people would jump on the third process like on a jet plane scuba diving, and forget about the fourth… :)

Yes, this is what I am climbing out of right now…Information overload! It only took a year!! ; ) I’d guess that I have spent about a thousand on products and have actually used only a couple completely. One product is the only reason I have my website up and running, so it’s not all bad. It’s so easy to spin in circles and not know where to start – everything seems so important.

    Lynn,

I have fallen into this trap so often in the past I’m quite wary of it now: succumbing to the enthusiastic idea that “this one is the one I need, now!”

Lately, I’m more likely to think: “I really want to finish the course I’m in and that I started first, before I buy or take on any more commitments.”

After a while it really became more important to me to finish things, to take projects to completion. That’s how I control that impulse now that wants to try every new neat-sounding program. Finish first, then look around for what I need next. Step by step. What do you think?

I have taken quite a many course on this subject though frankly I am not sure how much of it is working. But your review looks promising so will check it out.

  9. Dennis Edell says:

How much have I spent…..sorry sweets, after revealing that, I’d have to come to your house, eat your food and steal your pets.

    Hmm, I don’t see any free video/PDF…

  11. Kin says:

Getting more information turns to a addiction, which all come to our Fear of lost. Fear of being not getting the up-to-date information. Our most instant action is to get the “product” and that kills our feeling of Fear. However as we do that all the time, we end up being an information junkie. Knowledge is only potential power, about the apply the knowledge we have and get what we want is real power.

Here is my tip to kill this habit.
    1. Open whatever product you’ve bough in the past.
    2. Read that at a time limit eg. 30 mins
    3. write down the best 3 tips or strategies
    4. Plan how you can apply them, regardless whether you’re ready or not.
    5. Get that done.
    6. Now the outcome maybe not so great, it’s just like a draft at this point. But you already implement the first step which is taking action (good on you)
    7. Fine tune what you’ve done
    8. Read the next product, get the best tips, and put on your business model.

hope this can help whoever reading this.

I must stop learning and start implementing. I have many take-away tasks from meetings and classes. I need to start the implementation process and stay on course for about 3 months.

Honesty, with so many information in my head now, I don’t know where to start now. There’s actually that feeling that pushes you to read more and more cause it seems that you’re not learning anything. Then at the end of the day, you’ll find no accomplishment at all. All because of too much information running through your head.

  14. Jacob from ProducerPages says:

The big byproduct of too much information that plagues me is the indecisiveness resulting from too many options. Coaches recommend sticking with one approach a little longer before jumping to another scheme.

  15. Malik says:

Thanks for the tool which you provided on this..it really helped a lot in creating my usernames without any difficulty and for the list and saved a lot of time.

  17. Jessie Jacob says:

If we really want to succeed online, we need to manage the implementation of at least some information that we already know. In that way, we could easily eliminate useful to less useful process or strategy in our mind. The elimination process can really help us in reaching our goal.

  18. Andrew Davis says:

The best way to avoid information overload is to immediately apply the information you know. In this way, you can group useful information and non-useful information. No need to suffer from information overload.
