Many of us have that attitude that we want to know more in order to be confident enough in handling things. It’s our way to assure ourselves that we are on the right track. However, this kind of attitude can be very time consuming. The more you acquire knowledge, the more confused you’ll become.

The best way to avoid information overload is to immediately apply the information you know. In this way, you can group useful information and non-useful information. No need to suffer from information overload.

If we really want to succeed online, we need to manage the implementation of at least some information that we already know. In that way, we could easily eliminate useful to less useful process or strategy in our mind. The elimination process can really help us in reaching our goal.

The big byproduct of too much information that plagues me is the indecisiveness resulting from too many options. Coaches recommend sticking with one approach a little longer before jumping to another scheme.

Honesty, with so many information in my head now, I don’t know where to start now. There’s actually that feeling that pushes you to read more and more cause it seems that you’re not learning anything. Then at the end of the day, you’ll find no accomplishment at all. All because of too much information running through your head.

I must stop learning and start implementing. I have many take-away tasks from meetings and classes. I need to start the implementation process and stay on course for about 3 months.

Getting more information turns to a addiction, which all come to our Fear of lost. Fear of being not getting the up-to-date information. Our most instant action is to get the “product” and that kills our feeling of Fear. However as we do that all the time, we end up being an information junkie. Knowledge is only potential power, about the apply the knowledge we have and get what we want is real power.

Here is my tip to kill this habit.
1. Open whatever product you’ve bough in the past.
2. Read that at a time limit eg. 30 mins
3. write down the best 3 tips or strategies
4. Plan how you can apply them, regardless whether you’re ready or not.
5. Get that done.
6. Now the outcome maybe not so great, it’s just like a draft at this point. But you already implement the first step which is taking action (good on you)
7. Fine tune what you’ve done
8. Read the next product, get the best tips, and put on your business model.

I have fallen into this trap so often in the past I’m quite wary of it now: succumbing to the enthusiastic idea that “this one is the one I need, now!”

Lately, I’m more likely to think: “I really want to finish the course I’m in and that I started first, before I buy or take on any more commitments.”

After a while it really became more important to me to finish things, to take projects to completion. That’s how I control that impulse now that wants to try every new neat-sounding program. Finish first, then look around for what I need next. Step by step. What do you think?
