  1. Thanks for the info. I've been using Pingomatic. I'm curious how the two compare? Thanks for all your great help.

And this doesn't interfere with the ponging from within the WordPress admin? Too much can get you banned from different ping sites.

  3. Thank you for the information. Have been using Pingler but am happy to give BlogBuzzer a try.
I am curious if a blog site can be over pinged.

WordPress has a built in ping list (though it is usually a good idea to update it to a more recent one.

You can also use pinggoat, pingler, and more pinging sites. Just remember that pinging simply lets the search engines know something new exists. It doesn't guarantee any new visitors.

Do good keyword research, create excellent content, build relationships and grow your fan base.

I have heard it can be detrimental to over ping your site especially if you aren't adding anything to it. Not sure if it is true or not but once your page/post is indexed pinging will only help if something changes (you edit it, add comments etc)

  5. I did read something about pinging once and they said you can re-do it after an upgrade. I didn't realise that included every post. Have booked marked that site to use on a regular basis. Thanks! I love when stuff is explained clearly so you get it & are not left wondering. $19 a year seems like a bargain too! That's the cost of two lunches & I wouldn't have to bother about remembering it again. Who needs food LOL.

  6. I tested it out by having them tweet a link I was working on promoting, and having my blog pinged. I'm not very up on pinging as a marketing method (I've always shelved that along with blog commenting as there are much better ways to spend my time, in my opinion). But when I met BlogBuzzer on Twitter and checked out their site, it did interest me. I appreciate their guest post here, and taking the time to explain to us how it works!

I wish those folks who keep commenting on my blog could understand that. It takes up my time going through them, even though I end up trashing most.
And here's a funny thing I don't understand. Why is it so many choose to comment on one early post?

  8. Pinging your blog after every post is a best practice one can follow. Apart from all the SEO activities you do, pinging helps other sites do part of your work. Once you ping, the webmasters maintaining blog list can quickly pickup your updated posts. Their own SEO techniques can boost traffic to your blog and even by getting a one way link to your site, you improve your google ranking.

  9. pinging is such a neat tool to spread the word of your blog

  10. i just notice the power of pinging

The service I am using currently costs about $5 per month. That is $72 a year! And honestly, I don't think they compare to Blog Buzzer. And it looks like Blog Buzzer is only $19 a year. I thank you for letting me know about this pinging service.

  12. Is there anybody here can share their true experience upon using BlogBuzzer? Honestly, I'm interested to try this also, but if there's another good one, I think you should share it now...
