Why Use PLR? It’s Fast, Easy and Effective!

We just wrapped up the 8-day Content Marketing section of our Growing Your List challenge. - Whew!

By now you're probably wondering how in the world you're ever going
to create all that content. đŸ˜›

From free reports and opt-in incentives, to content for your autoresponder series & blog posts...

Not to mention articles for article marketing, content ideas for your videos, unique pieces for Web 2.0 sites, etc.
You have a lot of content to create! This is a great time to remind you of one of the best little content development secrets on the 'net: PLR Content.

That stands for Private Label Rights. You can purchase it at a *very* low price, edit both the wording and the format to suit you, and use it as your own (claim authorship) throughout the various places where you need to publish content...

You can also hire ghostwriters of course, or outsource content writing, but I find that to be a bit more hassle than using PLR content. The upside is that you usually get unique content on the exact topic you specify. The downside is the turnaround time and the cost, and often you have to go through a few writers before you find one that will finish the work and give you the quality you were hoping for.

There can be quality issues with some PLR Content as well, so you want to choose your sources carefully. Fortunately it's so inexpensive you can "shop around" until you find a source that consistently delivers the topics and quality you want.

One of my favorite sources for PLR Content is EasyPLR.com by Nicole Dean. She offers a variety of topics, high quality PLR content, and *great* prices. She often runs sales and specials so it pays to keep an eye on the site.

And she doesn't just offer "articles" you can use for blog posts or article marketing - but also PLR reports and e-courses as well!

Here are two examples to spark creative ideas:

I know PLR has been around for a long time but I have some reservations about using it. I have a hard time thinking that I can create something really good, useful, and unique content with it.

    Am I missing something?

    • Hi Nick,

I've used it plenty myself, as shown in the example here: http://www.clicknewz.com/2060/plr-article-rewrite/ I often re-word the content into my own "voice" and will sometimes even reformat it. I might break it up into tips for social media updates, break a report up into an autoresponder series, use it as an outline for a webinar, etc.

Any idea the source of your reservations? Did you purchase low quality PLR at some point and get turned off by it in general perhaps?

I bought some bad PLR a while back. I have also seen people use bad PLR to create content for a site.

Thanks for replying Lynn! I love your blog.

  2. I have managed to find several good plr providers. The only problem is that I find it's difficult to find content that pleases me.

I came across some bad ones too. The best thing about bad plr is it makes you feel good about your own writing. And like your IQ is 170 or something.

  3. I too have several great PLR providers that I use. I create, sell and use PLR a lot and I love it because it really helps. For example, sometimes I'm not sure what to send to my list so I'll go search some of my fav PLR providers and find something great to put into my autoresponder.

  4. I have been using plr more recently, and it can help a LOT. It gives you ideas on topics to write about, gives you a lot of information to share, and is very reasonably priced. I do think you should edit it to make it really "You" but that can be pretty easily done.

  5. Hi Lynn,

I just found your blog yesterday and have enjoyed your posts greatly. You've given me so many ideas for my new website. I have a question about PLR: Is it resold multiple times to different buyers. If so is one of the main reasons to edit it so that it's not duplicate content?
I'm intriqued with this idea, just wondering if 100 people are buying the exact same content.

  6. I have use PLR in my online business for years; it's one of the easiest ways to add content to blogs, my auto-responders, or free reports. The key of course is adjusting it to fit your own 'voice' and style. I'm glad to hear you use PLR too - you have been a great inspiration to me, with your tips, etc!
