Productivity. Focus. Purpose.

Food for thought...

I've been very "productive" lately. πŸ˜‰

I am much more productive when I focus that is for sure. One of the main reasons people fail at internet marketing is because they do not focus enough to be productive. It's tempting to spend too much time reading emails and getting thoroughly distracted. Unsubscribing from a ton of lists that did not provide me with excellent information helped me focus on my business.

  2. I guess those are the keys to success. Focus and purpose are the first things someone should have. Productivity is what actually brings success.

  3. Yep, those are the key words for me this week, too many disractions over the past month and need to get back to building our future, thanks for the post and for reminding me, onwards and back to what i should be doing, thanks chris x

  4. Me too Lynn,
I've found that what really gets me productive is discovering purpose for each task.
Once I find the specific purpose in each thing that I'm doing.. I discover joy in it and keep working on the task until it gets done.
    I love this topic πŸ™‚

Hi Eren, fancy meeting you here again. I Finally after over a year was able to find the audiobook by Leo Babauta of Zen Habits on audible.com.

Anyway Eren, this is the book that I've been listening to for 3 days in a row! And I have you to thank for that Eren as you are the one that first told me about his "Focus-Free" sometime last year.... Thanks for that Eren!

      Catch Y'all later, Cool? :8)

I think I should spend more time thinking about getting the right thing done. I have no problem with productivity and focus, but sometimes I fear I work on things that aren't the most important.

  6. Right now, I still need to improve my focus. Though I can push myself to work on things in time even if I'm not feeling well or whatsoever, I personally know that I can improve more than what I have right now.

  7. I need to focus on defining Purpose

  8. I often do not have a problem with being productive but the "purpose" can often be a mystery. While I may be productive and have focus when working on other people's projects, when it comes to my own, I, too often need to re-focus so I can find the true purpose.

Short but sweet. No one said a helpful blog post had to be very long. thanks as always!

    • Short and sweet indeed, but I simply had to share this one. It crossed my screen on both Twitter and Facebook, and really spoke to me. Glad you guys enjoyed it too! πŸ™‚

  9. One way to keep me on task is to set a timer. Depending on what I am doing and what is going on I will set a timer for 30-50 minutes then take a break. Then set it again.

Thank you Lynn for sharing this simple and powerful message. Eren and Gary thanks for the Leo Babauta book message.

  11. This reminds me of quote I read in Readers Digest years ago,

    "Efficiency Is Doing Things Right,
Effectiveness Is Doing The Right Thing."

It really doesn't matter how well we do something if we are doing the wrong thing. For example, I can be really good at coming up with great ideas to help people with my website but if I don't actually write the articles then I can't help anyone.

  12. So True, with the best intentions in the world if we don't actually act on them nothing is going to happen for anyone, Ideas and intentions are a little worthless unless we do something with them. off to start posting again now, promise x
