ClickNewz total site traffic more than doubled in 2011, compared to 2010.
Last year the site saw well over half a million unique visitors (666,014), compared to just over a quarter million in '09.
The total number of visits in December 2011 was nearly triple the number of December 2010, with more visitors viewing a higher number of pages per visit.
Engagement is up!
And 2012 looks to be even more promising in terms of growth. 😀
All of the traffic is organic and highly targeted. Top traffic sources are major search engines, social media and personal referrals.

These numbers are current as of January 24, 2012. I post manually and individually to each of these social networks, and interact personally there.
In addition to the social media reach, there are almost 10k subscribers between RSS & Email at any given time, with a high per-item click through rate.

Single Post Stats
While overall stats are fun and interesting, I pay special attention to the stats of a single page or post over time. Achieving a top 10 ranking and funneling highly targeted traffic into specific pages is my specialty.
For example, my post about starting a free online business was written more than 3 years ago (August 2008). In 2010 alone, it saw 31,883 visits due to top rankings in Google for multiple long tail keyword phrases. In 2011 it saw 71,594 visits. Yes, more than double the year before. Again, this is a single blog post that was written almost 3 1/2 years ago.
An optimized post here at ClickNewz using a very specific keyword phrase, with a strong call to action in the post, can be worth quite a bit… 😉

The numbers sound very encouraging for any business owner to advertise on your site. Its amazing to see more than half a million people visiting your site and even better to see that these visitors keep visiting you often which makes the count cross the two million mark. Its a real opportunity for any advertiser to scale up the traffic on his link as well by advertising with you.
It is good to hear that your sites traffic doubled more than half from previous year. Getting such counts of traffic is a great achievement! Also I think the rates which you are offering for advertising on your site are also impressive. Where are you heading with those numbers?! Doubling every year is overkill, how do you manage to do it and still seem so relaxed about it?
LOL I honestly don't do much marketing outside of the optimization and social media engagement, which is practically second nature at this point.
The key is in creating great content that gets shared FOR you, through backlinks and social media, which cuts down on A LOT of the marketing work. 😉

Hi Lynn. Congratulations on your numbers and your success! Just wondering though. I saw that you are not using no follow links in your sponsored posts. Are you not worried that Google is going to 'punish' the site for that and kick you down in the rankings? I heard this happened to some others and Google's policy says that you must only use no follow links in sponsored posts. Although I want to accept sponsored posts for my site, I'm worried of any seo backlash, so I'm hoping to get your advice on that.

Lynn, do you use Google Analytics for your stats you've shared or Awstats or something else? My blog host provides stats by Awstats and I also have GA installed but they vary HUGELY.
My Awstats are more impressive than GA. Does it matter we use?
