Magazine Interview

I had a lady from AdAge.com email me yesterday, requesting a phone interview. Advertising Age is a print magazine that also offers online multi-media editions at their website.

I havent quite figured out what they offer specifically, or who their target market is, nor had I heard of them prior to the personal contact. But when she mentioned that she’d like to ask me some questions about PayPerPost (the new blog advertising network)… I couldnt pass up the opportunity.

With all of the controversy surrounding PayPerPost over the last couple of months, I realized that there was a possibility the article being written could have a negative slant. She wasnt very forthcoming with the details, but assured me it would be an objective piece…

I answered her in as much detail as possible, and followed up by answering a few more questions via email. Her last note was to ask me if i would point out a few of my blog posts that were done in association with PayPerPost, for examples.

I have to admit, I smiled at the fact that she couldnt tell between sponsored and unsponsored posts . Well, that means one of two things at least: 1) they blend in well enough with my content and topic that they dont stand out like a sore thumb, or 2) my topics vary so wildly that nobody can make sense of what in the world I’m talking about half the time anyway.

If you happen to catch quotes from me in a magazine somewhere – online or off – let me know. I am keeping my fingers crossed that she doesnt quote me out of context on this one

P.S. I have other “mag news” but I’m keeping it under my hat for now… I’ll post about it soon, though. Promise!
