If I had a job…
… I’d call in sick today.
I have a full blown upper respiratory infection, so I’m heading off to see the doctor first thing this morning. Par for the course with the yo-yo weather extremes we experience in Tennessee this time of year… not to mention living with two germy kids
LOL.
It’s days like this that I really appreciate my home office and the flexibility of working at home. I can spend an hour or so doing what’s important – in my flannel PJs with a glass of OJ in hand – instead of sitting in an office for 8 full hours feeling miserable. Or best case scenario: calling in sick and having to listen to a boss gripe about it.
I think if I’m feeling up for it (while the meds are keeping me awake anyway), I’ll take the laptop to bed and work on some mundane tasks – such as updating one of my affiliate sites. Focus may be out of the question, but that doesnt mean I cant be at least a little bit productive today
.
*cheers*

Get well soon Lynn
Thank you both! I’m feeling a little better this evening, well enough to sit up and sip chicken noodle soup anyway

Feel better, Lynn! I know being sick is certainly no fun.

Icky! I usually get one of those during the winter and I know how miserable they can be. The up-down-up temps and cool, humid, rainy weather this time of year certainly don’t help. Feel better!
Thanks
Yes, its cold and rainy here today after a warm sunny weekend in the 60′s. Go figure *sigh*.

Yep, one of the delights of working at home… no matter how sick you are you feel the need to work.
Warm and sunny in the 60s, huh? Probably shouldn’t tell you how warm and sunny it is here, it’d make you even more sick. Get well soon.

This is great! Working at home I mean! But not all of us have this opportunity, or worse we have it but we cannot keep up with it because we’re too lazy or we really hate our job and so, working at home turns in “five more minutes and i will get to work”!
I actually love my work (online, from home), and so dont find motivation to get it done to be an issue at all. I didnt start out with this opportunity either, of course… but worked very hard to make that switch.

[...] I’ve been playing catch-up with some of my work today after being sick most of this past week. I’ve been taking Nyquil + daytime meds since last Thursday, and focus has been pretty much non-existant. While I seem to be over the hump with the virus, I’m guzzling water and Gatorade to rehydrate and regain my strength. You know how it is – blah. That’s about the only word that describes it . [...]
