I just heard rumor that IceRocket was bought out by someone – so perhaps that will mean new activity? We’ll have to keep an eye on that…

Hey Lynn, I know there is IceRocket which also uses tags to help index blogs, though I haven't heard much about it in recent times (i.e. the last 6 months or so).

I hate to hear that. Being so new to the scene I am not aware of changes like that, but it’s too bad considering what a great resource Technorati is.

Are there others? I’m aware of Boardtracker.com for Forums, but not other sites like Technorati…

Good tip, Lynn. I’ve been using tags for a very long time (in the form of Drupal’s taxonomy). Within my sites it helps people find related posts. Within technorati it helps people find related posts across sites. The only problem is that technorati seems to have lost a lot of cred in the last 6 months or so. Their index had fallen way behind. They’re only now catching up. I’m not getting much traffic from them at the moment but I hope that’ll pick up this year. At the very least they need to work more to keep the splogs out.

Very good tip you give about linking back to the same tag and not just to the home page!

And you are right, leaving a comment is really nice input – thanks for yours – plus it works, of course I’m going to checkout the site of the person commenting
