This whole Armand Morin thing really freaked me out!

Generator Twins!By now you have no doubt heard about Armand Morin and Michael Lee Austin. I got a flood of emails earlier today on the topic, and finally had a chance to sit down and check them out this evening.

I had heard the rumors that Armand Morin had a country CD out – but I was torn on whether I believed that or not. So when I got the link tonight (from Armand himself), I had to take a peek at what all the talk was about…

Here’s the direct link:

Michael Lee Austin and Armand Morin

At first you see Armand Morin, proving that it was just a rumor and introducing Michael Lee Austin. But by the end of that video… you just know that the Austin guy was dubbed in. Had to be. And if you have a shred of doubt left in your mind when the video stops playing – just compare the eyebrows!

Okay, so I’m taking the fun out of it for those of you who havent seen the video yet. Sorry about that!

So I’m stunned. It’s not good, it’s not bad… I’m just sort of shocked. So I poke around the site a bit and decide to listen in to one of the songs. Follow along with me here – click Leaving For Good”. I’m from Tennessee, so I can appreciate a good ol’ tear jerkin’ country song… but as I’m sitting there listening in, with chill bumps rising on my arms – - I realize it’s ARMAND MORIN.

So yeah – getting chill bumps over Armand Morin really freaked me out!

I’m still not sure what to make of all this. It’s cool. I’m rooting for Armand, of course – Go for your dreams!! But now I’m kinda torn on how to spend my Adsense check. Do I attend the Big Seminar, or go see Armand in concert?? Errr, I mean Michael Lee Austin :D

It’s kinda mind-blowing, isnt it?

(Was I the last to know, yet again??)

Cool. Very cool. I’m still in shock, but I do think it’s cool.

What about you?

He performed for us at BigSeminar last April. I haven’t been since then, but I’m guessing he may have performed at the last 2 seminars as well.

I’m not a country fan, but he was good!

    LOL Paul!

Alice – sounds like I really missed out! I was just making tentative plans to attend Big Seminar Atlanta ’07 (my neck ‘o the woods)… so I’ll have to go now for sure!!

Still shocked, and off to sleep on this one!

And he (they?) is doing fine on Amazon: #8 on the Country Top Sellers ;-)

I worked at a seminar last May in London with Armand and was really blown away on Karaoke night with his singing. He mentioned he was putting a CD together and played a couple of songs from it.

Another presenter, Mike Stewart, who a professional musician/studio owner turned internet marketer, also co-wrote a couple of songs with Armand that they sang together – really fantastic.

I’ll have to check out the CD on Amazon…

  6. Lynn Terry says:

Well, I’ve been listening in to the music (again) over coffee this morning… and I’ve decided I’m liking it.

Yup, I’m going to need a two-step partner for the next BigSeminar… ;-)

It is nice to realize that these marketing guys are real people, and they do have interests outside of internet affiliate marketing.

  8. Lynn Terry says:

    I agree, Rob.

Lynn Terry, Armand MorinI have to say, I was very impressed with Armand when I met him in Chicago a couple of years ago. Up to that point, I’d only known him as “The Generator Guy” and was admittedly annoyed with the number of emails I got from him (esp since I somehow found myself subscribed to three different lists he owned, that all got the same messages).

Meeting him in person, and having the chance to have an actual conversation with him, changed my impression immediately. He is a very down-to-earth and personable fellow with a great sense of humor.

A group of us went to dinner after the sessions – a large group, actually. We ate, drank, ordered some more, laughed, talked, had another round of drinks… and at the end of the evening, Armand surprised everyone by generously picking up the tab for the entire group (and it was quite a tab!).

I’m still shocked that Armand is actually a ‘Country Music Star’ now. But you can count me as a fan!

I really wasn’t sure at first if they were the same person or not! (But I’m kind of gullible sometimes  ) Then I listened to the audio clips – from just the first song I couldn’t tell if it was a real album or just part of a marketing thing for the teleseminar.

This was a very creative idea — another one that falls into the category of “wish I’d thought of that!”

  10. Lynn Terry says:

It was pretty confusing, wasnt it? lol

But those that have attended the past few seminars, as you can see from the comments above, had a headstart on us by knowing about Armand’s talent firsthand.

I’m glad to know I wasnt the only one to get stumped and shocked!

And yeah, I wish I’d thought of being Reba McEntire :D That mighta been nice!

Slightly off topic, but reading through your entry Lynn, and the comments, made me realize something about life…

We get what our heart truly desires. No matter what we’re doing (even if it’s the complete opposite or unfathomable), our true desires will find a way into our lives :)

Personally, when I first saw the video, I thought the “two” men looked suspiciously similar. That’s when I realized they either had to be twins or the same person :D .

    Cool. Definitely cool.

  12. Lynn Terry says:

What a great thought, Teli. I think that if we want something bad enough, doors will open for the opportunity to make it a reality.

At first I thought it was a hoax. That Armand Morin can’t be a country singer. Then, I decided to do a google search for Michael Lee Austin and read the bio. Now I’m not so sure.

All in all, I think he has cleverly created A Big Marketing Buzz!

  14. Lynn Terry says:

    Hi Evelyn :D

I agree about the buzz… but the album is out there on Amazon, and that’s definitely Armand (just take a look at those eyebrows!). There’s no denying it!

I think the way that it was presented to those of us who werent clued in is what caused all of the confusion on whether it was some crazy marketing tactic – or a legitimate attempt to boost exposure and sales for his new CD.
