Selling Info Products

It's no secret that there is big money to be made online in Info Products... This includes multimedia files, ebooks, reports or any other type of digital download product. In fact, it's such a great market that there are hundreds of Info Products out there to teach you how to develop and sell Info Products!

Most of them will tell you in great detail how to choose a niche, develop a product, and then promote that product - giving you the outline for an online business plan in a nutshell. This method of making money online works, and it works well.

That said, most people arent willing to invest that much time and energy into product development, not knowing exactly what to expect as a return on that investment. For others, the project gets overwhelming at some point and/or they lose interest in it and the product never gets completed. And for those that actually create their own Info Product, promoting it then becomes their challenge.

You must have a list to sell your product to - but what comes first, the product or the list? You must have a website to sell your product from, and sales copy to make it sell. There are testimonials to gather, joint ventures, paid advertising campaigns, and affiliate programs to set up. Then there are conversion rates, refunds, feedback and support.

And the Guru's will tell you to price your Info Product at $47, $97 or even $197 so that your affiliates will work harder to promote your product for you. With most Info Products paying affiliates 50% of the sale, you and your affiliate are earning $23.50 each on a $47 sale.

Is the product really worth $47 or is it worth $23.50? Is your pricing point about perceived value, or actual value? Did you struggle to over-deliver on the content in your Info Product so that it matches the price point you selected?

What starts out as a simple idea to make money online - creating your own Info Product - quickly snowballs into a huge project that takes you six months to complete. During which time you are not earning money on it, and can easily find yourself burned out on and second guessing the potential ROI.

If you can relate to ANY of this... you should check out 7 Dollar Secrets. It is a quick 33-page report that I just downloaded and read this morning myself. And you know what? It made perfect sense.

If you're like me, you may already have several Info Products sitting "on the back burner". Or perhaps you have at least one great idea that you just havent started on yet for some of the reasons above. If that's the case, then I encourage you to take a look at Jon Leger's report.

Once you read 7 Dollar Secrets, you'll be doing one of two things: recommending it to others, and earning 100% of the sale. Or creating your own Info Products quickly and easily, and making good money doing it πŸ˜‰

  1. I read it... great stuff... BUT... wheres the rest of ya blog post! πŸ˜‰

  2. Busted! πŸ˜† It's up there now πŸ˜‰ I accidentally hit the 'publish' button before I finished writing my thoughts on it. Sorry about that!

  3. im always hesitant to purchase books or ebooks that have affiliate links too them (mainly when it's from an affiliate website such as this).

  4. The link above is a payment link. It takes you directly to the sales page, but it does include tracking information so that your payment goes through correctly should you decide to get a copy of the report yourself.

I'm sure you already realize this, but you can open a new window and type in the URL - going to the website directly. This is an extra step for you, and doesnt benefit you in any way. If you decide to order - based on my recommendation OR the sales copy, you receive the same product in the same manner either way.

Yes, I am compensated for my recommendation. But those who are regular readers here know that I purchased it myself, read the report, and wrote this post and recommendation based on content - not commission.

That said, I am curious why it is that you are hesitant about buying Info Products through affiliate or referral links? If you want the product, and you have a money-back guarantee to back your purchase, what is it that turns you off about going through a referral link?

    WHY?
If you are getting the product is doesn't matter WHO you get it from.. you are just helping out the one who shares with you.

Nothing wrong with that, I got this through a friends link.. why not.. I am helping them and getting 100% quailty for it.

After all I trust them to only point me to something worthy.. its THIER reputation on the line.

This is a reprt with 100% commision.. so choose who you want to get through.. but don't worry about affiliation.. else YOU miss out on good stuff..look at it as a positive thing.

People would NOT share half as much if this wasn't in place.. πŸ˜‰

    Nothing to worry about..

Just enjoy the stuff that IS worthy.. πŸ˜€

  6. FYI: This product has a GREAT conversion rate, so if you are considering getting a copy to review, and intend to turn around and recommend it to your own readers or subscribers... go for it! Not only is it a GREAT report, but its an easy way to earn a nice return on a very minimal investment!

  7. Hi Lynn,
I purchased the book now where do you download it?
After clicking on return to merchant it took me straight back to the sales page.

  8. Hi Cynthia,

When you go through the PayPal order process, the confirmation page had a link to return to the sellers site. That would have taken you to the page with the download link.

But you are not alone in reporting a problem, so there must be an issue on his end...

I think Jon uses a php script to make sure you get the download link, the info on the confirmation page, and the free scripts that you need. I believe the best way to get in touch with him regarding this is at http://www.askjonleger.com/ . That is the address he has listed on 7dollarsecrets.com for questions and support.

    Keep me posted πŸ˜‰

  9. Hi Lynn.

Same problem: " I purchased the book now where do you download it? After clicking on return to merchant it took me straight back to the sales page. "

I booked a ticket at http://www.askjonleger.com/ . Still waiting to get the link to download my copy of $7 dollars ebook!

    Any latest solution with you?

  10. Lynn,
I must second your recommendation of the ebook. Personally, I found it to be a refreshing change and immediately fell into both categories you described (promoting it and coming up with great info products/ideas).

...why it is that you are hesitant about buying Info Products through affiliate or referral links?

Though I'm not Joe, I believe I can shed some light onto his mentality. Some people are cynical, especially when it comes to IM related products, because some marketers will simply say a product's good just to get the commission. In other words, the review no longer seems impartial.

However, I agree that if a marketer finds something useful and she enjoys it enough to recommend it, then she should also be entitled to the kickback from it. It's no skin of the customer's nose because she'll be spending the same amount for the product regardless of whether it's a straight or affiliate link.

This really goes back to reputation and whether a marketer is known for recommending good products/services or just shilling for more money. I think you fall into the former category Lynn. πŸ™‚

Now, regarding the download links not working, I believe the problem was actually clicking the return to merchant link instead of allowing PayPal to redirect you after the sale.

If I'm not mistaken, there is an IPN set up and when PayPal auto-redirects you (i.e. you don't click a link), it sends along some information about your purchase so you can view the download link. When I tried to access the Thank You page again in a different browser, I was greeted by a blank screen.

So, if anyone should come across this, purchase, do not click the return to merchant link. Allow PayPal to redirect you.

For those of you already put out, sorry I can't be more help. 😐

Pretty much spot on; I guess when your into affiliate marketing and know abit about the industry, and you've another affiliate marketer trying to sell you something, you end up being left a little sceptical about the review, and the reviewers ajender behind it.

Please believe me when I say there was no intention to offend, or any malicious intent behind my comment; hell, it's a common problem us affiliate marketers have to face day to day when promoting products through our website - portraying a truthful and unbiased opinion on a product we feel others can benifit from. πŸ™‚

None the less, im surprised you posted my comment, and it's certainly increased my trust in the honesty of your reviews πŸ˜€

  12. That makes perfect sense. I'm glad you stopped back by and thanks for taking the time to answer the obvious!

  13. No problem πŸ˜€ I've got this website book marked and check it regularly πŸ™‚ Keep up the good work! πŸ™‚

  14. Good to see ya grabbed it Joe... why not, its worth it... πŸ˜‰

  15. Now if only could get this many comments on my blog.. *sigh* πŸ˜‰

  16. Thank you, Joe!

    Hi Lynn,

I actually bought this a few days ago before I saw your recommendation of it.

Actually, when I see that someone whom I have learned to trust online like Lynn is an affiliate for something, I go out of my way to make sure that my sale is attributed to that person so that they will get the commission.

I love purchasing products via affiliate links, especially if I know the person who is promoting it. And, I figure, what goes around comes around. I would want someone to purchase through my link in the future as well so I try to keep the good karma flowing! πŸ™‚

What ya think of my twist on it?

  20. Hi
Why people avoid purchase through affiliate link?
it is same if they go straight to the site main page, same price !!

  21. Yes, you are right. I think its just a mindset...
