Today is “Launch Day” for a new product titled Day Job Killer. Actually, the official launch just kicked off an hour or so ago…
For those of you that are wondering what this product is all about, here’s a quick rundown of the top 10 must-know’s:
1) The Day Job Killer is authored by the same guy who wrote Adwords Miracle and Affiliate Project X, which broke the Clickbank record for sales when it was released last October (selling over 6,000 copies in just 1 week). The reason for the massive success is simple: people who bought it and used his methods made money, so the success spread and went viral all over the internet! So, you can clearly see that the Day Job Killer is going to be THE number One money-making affiliate guide for 2007! You know you’re playing with a winner who understands affiliate marketing inside out.
2) The ebook is less than 100 pages and is extremely easy to read. It has no fluff, no hype, no outdated textbook information that doesn’t work in the real world. The techniques are being used right now by a few savvy affiliates who are making a killing online.
3) The techniques are “stolen” from real internet marketers and gurus who have been using it against the average affiliate. Learning these techniques means beating the gurus at their own game. So, not only do you make easy, day job killing cash, you also get to p*^s off the gurus who have been holding you back…and you get to rob them blind while you laugh all the way to the bank.
4) The techniques are very easy to learn. You don’t have to be a computer genius or learn any special new skills to use them to make big money in affiliate marketing.
5) The Day Job Killer methods have been “field-tested” on 12 test subjects just to prove that the techniques will work for any affiliate, regardless of level of experience (it works for newbie and advanced affiliates). Remember that these are techniques secretly being used by successful affiliates and internet marketing gurus right now at the expense of the average affiliate. Those 12 test subjects are now making money (the most successful of them now makes over $500 a day and the least successful is making $150 a day).
6) The ebook contains original and unique information and techniques: Most “make-money” ebooks are just a re-hash of the same techniques found in all the others. This is why those techniques hardly ever work in the real world. These are not techniques that you will find in a hundred other ebooks or guides. The information contained in Day Job Killer doesn’t exist in any other ebook so you know you’re getting hard-core, cutting edge ways of making money.
7) You don’t have to be rich or have a lot of money to invest in order to start making money with the Day Job Killer techniques. Inside the ebook, you will find little-known ways of affiliate marketing which will generate a huge profit…but without having to spend a lot of money to implement them. You will learn tricks and short-cut ways of using Google Adwords to maximize your income while avoiding any potential losses in the process.
You get a free live video demonstration of one of the techniques contained in the Day Job Killer. Some people find it far more beneficial to re-inforce their learning by watching something visual. With this ebook, you’ll not only read about the money-making techniques and how to copy them…but you can also see a sample of it in action for yourself so that you can fully internalize the methods and replicate them. This is of course a big advantage which puts the Day Job Killer in a different league entirely from all the other ebooks/guides in internet marketing. How many authors are prepared to demonstrate their techniques and give it away in a free video…? Not many but you get exactly this with this ebook.
9) You will be entitled to free lifetime updates on the Day Job Killer program. These techniques are so hard-core and stealthy that they work phenomenally well in today’s affiliate marketplace. But of course, as we know, nothing on the internet ever stays the same. When these internet changes happen, the Day Job Killer will get updated to reflect them so that you continue to make money. And as a buyer of the ebook, you will receive these updates to the program for free whenever they occur, no matter how long ago you bought your copy.
10) No gurus allowed! The Day Job Killer ebook is not written by a big name internet marketing guru who can’t even relate to the average hard-working but frustrated affiliate. The Day Job Killer is written by a guy who himself was a struggling affiliate too, not so long ago. So you’re reading the words of someone who can connect to the underlying feelings of failure and frustration of not succeeding online. So the techniques are designed to be brutal towards the gurus, but devastatingly effective for the long-suffering affiliate to make fast, easy cash from the internet.
I hope that helps you to make your decision on whether Day Job Killer is the right product for you!
Best,

This is a great summarization and desciption of what buyers can expect from Day Job Killer. Nicely Done!
The most compelling chapter for me Was Campaign Nuking, other Advanced Adwords Tricks

I heard that this (DJK) is nothing but a big scam! See here:

Thank you for the link to the thread… but I dont think that it describes it as a “big scam”. It is, however, a great discussion, and well worth reading prior to making your final decision on whether to purchase this product or not.
It pays to keep in mind that anyone can post anything in any forum, and opinions are just that: opinions.
I have not yet offered my personal opinion on this product either way, as I have not fully reviewed it as of yet. I simply posted the bullet points that were outlined by the product developer above - and of course welcome any thoughts, questions, opinions (and of course links to such) that you have!
Best,

p.s. This is what Allan Gardyne (AssociatePrograms.com) had to say about Day Job Killer in his most recent issue:
==============================
1. Ruthless new affiliate book
==============================
My brother is visiting and I want to spend time with him so I’ll have to write this quickly…
It’s too important for you to miss.
Chris McNeeney, author of the hugely popular “Affiliate Project X, has just launched a new ebook, called the Day Job Killer … and it’s going to be even more controversial than Project X.
Project X set ClickBank records when it launched (selling over 6,000 copies in one week). I reckon Chris’s new book will be one of the biggest selling ebooks this year.
Chris was a struggling affiliate not terribly long ago, but he studied ClickBank super affiliates and “reverse engineered” their techniques.
The book is all about using AdWords to promote affiliate products in all sorts of brilliant and sneaky ways. He shows you tricks and shortcuts to maximize your revenue - and how to lure clicks away from your competitors’ ads.
You get a video demonstration of one of the techniques. As Chris says, this will help you internalize the technique and replicate it.
Be warned. The book is brutal. Chris himself happily says that is contains “ruthless, underground, and downright evil techniques”.
Perhaps that’s why he now prefers to be known only by his first name.
Here’s an indication of how nasty this book is…
I received an early draft of the book last week. I was so annoyed by one of the techniques Chris describes that I told him I thought it recommended deceptive advertising which would be illegal where I live - and where he lives too.
He didn’t reply so I don’t know if this technique will be in the final version. Let’s hope not.
So how much loot is Chris generating from ClickBank? You can see a video he created and watch as he enters several of his ClickBank accounts and reveals astounding figures, like $800 a day, in just one account. The video shows how he’s generating cash at a rate of more than $1 million a year, from ClickBank alone.
Could the video be faked? I suppose it would be possible to fake a video of someone going into multiple ClickBank accounts and showing their stats, but I think the video is probably genuine.
In his words..
“These are sneaky, stealthy money-making techniques which the Internet marketing gurus use themselves (behind closed doors) but will NEVER reveal to you…”
Before he launched the book, Chris called for volunteers from affiliates who weren’t making money. He wanted to prove that even a newbie could make a living online using these techniques.
“And you know what?” he says. “After just a couple of weeks, all those test subjects started making a substantial income online … They are all now making enough money to quit their day jobs and make their living from home.”
The least successful of the 12 is making $150 a day, he says.
Day Job Killer is less than 100 pages - no fluff - and very easy to read.
One of the techniques described is the Holy Grail of affiliate marketing - using AdWords to send visitors directly to the merchant - no website needed. Chris has put a new twist on the 2004 GoogleCash method to make it work again, potentially with millions of affiliate products.
Experiment with this direct linking technique if you like, but to me it doesn’t make sense to try to build your business around it. If you do, you’re building the merchant’s business instead of your own. I strongly recommend you concentrate on some of the other techniques which build YOUR business.
I think every reader of this book will be wondering how long these new crafty techniques will last. As a result of this book, a hoard of new affiliates will be rushing out to create tough competition for the AdWords super affiliates who have been very quietly getting rich.
The good news is that Chris is promising free lifetime updates with the book, so as the Internet changes, he’ll keep you up to date with new techniques and strategies.
If you’re even a tiny bit interested in using pay-per-click advertising to generate affiliate commissions, you need this book. If you’re already using PPC advertising, you need this book to protect yourself from your new crafty competitors.
This is a bit rushed. I haven’t described the “campaign nuking” and “the leveller” sneaky techniques Chris includes in the book.

Lynn, have you read it, and what do you think of his tactics? I’ve been reading his (neverending) sales letter, and I keep feeling turned off by all the “stealing, robbing, sneaking, destroying” language. Sure, I’d love to make the money he is, but I also want to be able to face myself in the mirror each morning.
Of course, all that talk could be hype. I’m interested to know what honest affiliates think of these techniques.

Hi Wendy,
I answered your question right before you answered it, LOL - but I’ll repost it here to make it easy:
“I have not yet offered my personal opinion on this product either way, as I have not fully reviewed it as of yet. I simply posted the bullet points that were outlined by the product developer above - and of course welcome any thoughts, questions, opinions (and of course links to such) that you have!”

I feel you. Okay, maybe big scam was a bit strong - sorry, but yes it was a good discussion (until they pulled it).
Answer.com says The verb scam has one meaning:
“Meaning #1: deprive of by deceit” So I guess it up to the individual to decide wether or not this applies…
Yes, I also got the email from Allan Gardyne and I was very surprised (and a little dissapointed) that he was promoting it (apparently I wasn’t the only one - he got some stick on his message board and admitted he had some emails on it too). Ditto with Rosalind Gardener - I know they both mentioned the ’shady’ aspects of the techniques, but it still looked like bandwagon jumping to me…….
Wendy, (Hi) if you want to build a long term business and be able to face yourself in the mirror each morning I would guess this ebook is not for you? If you read some of the comments by people who have bought it, read it and are not just trying to get a commission off of it, then you will see why I decide not to buy:
eg:
“I just got finished reading Day Job Killer and all I can say is WOW! I don’t mean that in a good way. I know that I said that I wasn’t going to buy this but I just couldn’t resist. I had to see for myself what all the noise was about and whether it is as good as everyone says it is…… ” Read the rest of the article at:

Thanks for the additional details & links! I have a comp copy to review, but havent gotten around to it. From what I have heard already, it doesnt sound like something I want to invest a lot of time in at this point… Perhaps I will find some time over the weekend to give it a personal review, though.
Thanks again - great discussion here!

I notice one of the bullet points you stress was the updates, but unfortunately it seems that was never done with Affiliate Project X, here is the quote from his project x salesletter:
“And know this: I have just requested my account limit be raised to $197. With the updates I have planned for Project X, and as the revolution gathers steam, the question still remains for you: which side do you want to be sitting on this fall?…”
Did anybody ever get any updates to that product?
I sure don’t recall one, but he sure as heck is marketing the crap out of Day Job Killer and saying it is APX part 2, which seems shady to me.
Tom // Feb 14, 2007 at 9:28 am
I wanted to, but I didn’t buy it. For one thing I would think that these techniques will quickly lose effectiveness once the cat is out of the bag. I could be wrong though.
For another thing, if the guy is personally working with you, you have a huge advantage over someone reading an ebook. Hence I’m not impressed by the 12 test subjects’ success.
And finally, who does he think he’s kidding with the anti-guru stuff. Anyone who is doing as well as he is, is in the inner circle for sure.
Freeze // Feb 16, 2007 at 5:43 am
Lynn,
I bought the ebook but it’s not that spectacular. You were saying that at no. 8 there will be a free live video demonstration of one of the technique, but I don’t see any….
Lynn Terry // Feb 16, 2007 at 10:48 am
You should get in touch with the author, because I got those points directly from him. I have not reviewed this product yet myself. I’d be interested to hear what they say in response…

Hi Lynn,
I contacted Chris and he gave me a link to that video. It was actually the video before the launch of DJK…what a let down..Here’s the link..

Thanks for the update - I’m not getting a positive vibe on this product, just from the feedback here alone… Anyone else care to add their thoughts/experiences?
deborah // Mar 8, 2007 at 7:30 pm
I am really surprised you’d promote it on your blog when you have not read it. I think just having it on your blog with your affiliate link suggests that you approve of it even if you did not mean it that way. Well, I bought it because I respect Lynn, and I have to say it’s not that great. I am a big fan of you, Lynn, but the fact you promote this without reading it really threw me for a loop.
Lynn Terry // Mar 8, 2007 at 8:44 pm
You make a very good point, Deborah - and you probably know thats not the usual from me. I honestly tried not to promote it or bash it either way, but simply posted the details on Launch Day because it was “news” in the industry that particular day.
I would suggest getting a refund on the product if you’re not happy with it - of course. And I apologize if my post was misleading to you. I assure you that wasnt my intention.
But I appreciate your input… and am going to remove the links to the product immediately. Thanks for taking the time to let me know your thoughts, both on this post and on the product itself!
Best,
Lynn Terry

Hi again,
I wanted to let you know that I did ask for (and receive) a refund. So, he at least appears to be an honest guy. His tactics just are not for me.
Warm regards,
Deborah

I’m glad to hear that

Deborah,
Because Day Job Killer uses clickbank as a way of payment the owner of djk has no control over the refund process. It is clickbanks decision whether or not a person gets a refund or not. Just because you got a refund doesn’t make Chris McNeeney honest.
By the way. I the author of the day job killer is a joke review that Urban Hermit linked here.
