Sponsored Reviews

I was browsing through the blogosphere recently and found mention of a new Paid-to-Blog opportunity posted by Audrey Ly called Sponsored Reviews. Audrey’s post referenced my Paid-to-Blog reviews, with this addition, so I decided to check it out and see if I might want to sign up myself…

How it works:

1. Add your Blog
By adding your blog to our network, advertisers can find you and purchase reviews directly. You set your own price and have the ability to reject or accept any offer. Once accepted you must write the review within 7 days.

2. Find an Advertiser
You can search our oppportunities to find advertisers with products or services that you would like to write a review for. Once you have placed a bid, an advertiser can either accept, decline, or make a counter-offer. If accepted, you must write the review and place it on your blog within 7 days.

What I really like about this particular system, is that it lets you contact the Advertisers and offer to do a review for them. This gives you even more control over your blog content, allowing you to choose super relevant topics or products to write your reviews on.

I decided to go ahead and sign up for an account at SponsoredReviews.com and give them a try. The process was simple and my account was live within minutes. Once logged in, I clicked the Find Advertisers tab and browsed the review opportunities…

You simply click on any of the opportunities that appeal to you, or that match your blog’s topic, and you will get a screen with full detail on the opportunity. From there you can submit a bid to the Advertiser, letting them know the price for which you will write the requested review.

When you are done browsing, you can return back to your main account page, and you will see each of your pending orders. Here is a screenshot of mine the day that I signed up, to give you an inside look:

I have been working with them for several weeks now, and have earned a total of $97.50 for 5 reviews. As you can see on my ClickNewz Profile, my base price for reviews is $75. SponsoredReviews pays their bloggers 65%, so I earn $48.75 per review. There is room to bid lower, or accept lower bids, so there is a lot of flexibility with the system.

Several of the 5 reviews that I have done for them so far earned under ten bucks. I took those reviews simply because I wanted to blog about that particular topic/site anyway. Its another great option in the “paid to blog” category.

Interestingly, they offer a review of their own site (SponsoredReviews.com) which I placed a bid on several weeks ago. That bid was declined today, even though my offer fell within their guidelines. I’ll have to check into that and see if they can clarify why they would decline a review from me ;)

  1. [...] I saw Lynn Terry’s post on Sponsored Reviews and decided to try them out. Looks like a cross between ReviewMe and PayPerPost, except you bid for the sites to review and advertisers can also contact you with an offer. It’s an interesting twist and it might make enough difference to be very worthwhile. Technorati Tags: AaUncategorized Review this post and earn $7.50 [...]
