Building Castles In The Air

May 17th, 2007 · 5 Comments ·

Before we can realize our goals, it helps to envision them and have an ideal result in mind. To do this is like building castles in the air. Even if no one else can see it, we have to know exactly what it looks like or how it works in order to create the blueprint to build it.

Without specifics, goals can be very hard to achieve. If you say you want to be rich, you need to know exactly how rich you aim to be. Do you want to make a million dollars, once? Do you want a 5-figure monthly income on a consistent basis? What does “rich” mean to you? Define that, and you have a real goal…

If you say you want financial freedom, what does that mean exactly? How much money would you need to earn to afford the lifestyle you envision, and what would be the source of your income? If you plan to be lying on a beach somewhere with millions in the bank, you have to know whether you earned those millions in one lump sum - or whether you have passive sources of income.

If you build your dream castle in detail, then you already know everything that it will take to make it a reality.

Close your eyes and imagine yourself one year from now. Try to imagine yourself five years from now. Next, imagine 10 years from now. Do you know exactly where you will be and what your life will be like? If not, its time to build your castle in the air so that you can start right away on the foundation!

Dream Big!

Best,

    Lynn,

That’s the law of attraction. Manifesting it from the meta-physical world to the physical world.

Visualize the dream in detail can get it going.

Yes, I am a big fan of Think and Grow Rich ;) I dont believe that you can create something out of nothing. But knowing exactly what you want, and going after it “obsessively” is what sets truly successful people apart from the rest of the world.

Hello. I liked Castles in the air. Very inspiring. Thanks.

Indeed I truly agree! One of the key elements to success is knowing exactly what you are working at achieving. I find that writing down the ‘castles’ on post it notes and sticking them on the PC or the desk really helps when I get those ‘oh no! I can’t do this’ moments. It helps me remind myself what I am working to achieve. That motivates me again.

That works very well for me too, Sarah. And there is nothing like looking at the result once you’ve achieved it, or holding it in your hand after imagining it for a period of time. It just motivates you all the more when you see it working for you!
