Blog Review News, Debates & Updates

The Blog Review market has exploded over the last year, opening up all kinds of opportunities from every angle. From backlinks to buzz to monetizing a free blogger account, thousands of people have benefited from all of the options that have become available recently.

PayPerPost is one of the companies that is leading the blog advertising pack with much buzz, publicity and even controversy. Love them or not, you have undoubtedly heard of them and you cant deny their placement in this market.

Their release of PPP Direct, just launched this week, is an example of the ongoing growth and competition in the market...

PPP Direct will allow bloggers to take paid reviews and opportunities directly, cutting out the middle man so to speak and allowing the blogger to keep more of the profit.

Each of the blog advertising networks has their own set-up. They charge the advertiser a price for the review, take a percentage as a cut for managing the deal, and pass on the remaining funds to the blogger for writing the blog post.

There are many benefits to bloggers for working with these networks versus taking reviews and blogging opportunities directly. You have more opportunities available to you with less groundwork and marketing on your end. You are guaranteed payment if you complete the task. And you spend less time managing the details, and just doing the review that you are paid for.

That said, there is a bit of controversy over one company's choice to charge premium rates for blog reviews, and take a 50% share on all transactions. Since the percentage is publicized and well known, it cheapens the perceived value of those reviews and leaves bloggers feeling shorted on the deal.

PPP Direct has stepped in as a solution, and obviously as a direct competitor. They will manage direct opportunities for you at a share of only 10%, allowing you to set the price and market your services through your own blog. The best of both worlds.

To use the PPP Direct widget on your blog, so that you can accept paid blog reviews directly from your readers, you will need to sign up for an account at PayPerPost. They will give you the code, handle the requests and payments, and forward 90% of the payment to you when you complete the requirements.

Personally, I am happy to see this option become available.

The only thing that is up for debate in regards to PPP Direct is their method of getting the word out this week. If you are a publisher already signed up for ReviewMe, you most likely received an email that starts out with "I noticed that you're a ReviewMe blogger..." - Not cool, IMO.

That's it for the latest on Blog Reviews, review networks, your options and the current thoughts & debates. Your comments are welcomed...
