My Reply To A Work-At-Home Opportunity Email

Lynn,
How are you? My name is Annette and I’ve been trying to reach you for weeks!! I know that you are an expert in marketing and I feel that I have an opportunity that may interest you. Let me start by saying that this is not an automatic email. I am a real person and I currently reside is Atlanta Georgia. I am currently working from home using this business to pay for college tuition. This business is private and it involves no selling, no products, no convincing, no meetings, and nothing to purchase. This is not multi-level marketing or network marketing. This business has also proven to generate cash arrivals in as little as 24 hours. It all depends on you. All you’ll have to do is simply return phone calls; the software will do the rest. This business changed my life. I made 15,000 my first month…

The above is a snippet from an email I received today from a nice lady named Annette. She passed all of the qualifications to get me to read her email – she knew my name, it was a personalized note, and well she just caught me at a good time…

Here was my reply:

Hi Annette, Nice to meet you :)

Your note made me curious about something. If you made $15k in your first month with this business, why on earth are you going to college?? You’d be hard pressed to get a degree in anything that would grant you the same earning potential, no?

Thanks,
Lynn Terry

The emails are becoming smarter – they can actually catch our attention for more than a fraction of a second, sometimes!

LOL, spam really is getting smarter, but the devil’s still in the details. :D

My other question, in addition to yours, is if she’s earning $15K per month, why on earth would she want — nay, need — to spill the beans?

And why is she trying to recruit you if it isn’t mlm?

Have you received a response yet?

I’d love to see the reply from her on this one.

Annette was actually very nice in her response and I was impressed with reply. She basically said that she grew up in a family where higher education was encouraged, and that she wanted to attend college for personal self-improvement and to broaden her options in the future.

I still dont get the “no products, no selling, nothing to buy” line, but I hear that a lot with multi-level marketing type business models. Regardless, I’m not in the market for a new business venture…
