I’ve been busy this past week with some of my own priorities, so I havent kept my ear to the ground on the big Adsense debate since I read Scott Boulch’s Life After Adsense report. I thought perhaps the dust would have settled by now – but a quick glance at my inbox tells me it hasnt…

From Google Adsense, Sept 2006: We’ve added one additional format to the list of available ad formats: the small square (200×200). The small square supports text, image, and video ads, so using this format when opted in to both text and image ads will enable you to show a wider variety of ads on your pages…

Life After AdSense, Climbing the Internet Marketing Food Chain was just released this morning, following the controversial report titled The Death of Adsense. Whether you agree with the content of Scott’s report or not, you have to admit that the marketing strategy itself is interesting. As successful as it has been, you cant help but keep an eye on this one to see how it plays out – and how Scott follows up…

What I’m referring to is the time of year. It’s time to remove Google Adsense on your niche sites, in preparation for the holiday shopping season. Now if you have a content site that capitalizes on the rise in advertising during the last quarter – you can ignore this advice. But if you placed Adsense ads on your niche site just to earn a little income during the slow months, now is the time to remove it and put the products back in the forefront…
