Success Principles and how they apply across the board whether you are aiming for a fitness goal, a business goal, or a life goal...

Hello again. This is Scott Tousignant back with some more home office fitness tips for you. I sure have been having a blast being a guest blogger here at Clicknewz.

Today I’d like to discus the topic of Success Principles and how they apply across the board whether you are aiming for a fitness goal, a business goal, or a life goal.

This isn’t rocket science. It’s not some mystical power. You don’t need to be born with any unique gifts or abilities. Anyone, and I do mean anyone can become a success and live a life to be proud of.

FREE Report:

Before we continue with this post I would like to give you a gift. It’s a free report that I called the “Top 10 Fat Loss Success Principles.” As you read through the report take note of how many of the same success principles can be applied to your Internet Marketing business. What principles do you think are most closely linked between fitness and business?

We all define success in our own way and that’s super cool. Not all of us desire to be millionaires. Not all of us want six pack abs. Not all of us want a house with a white picket fence, a dog, and two kids. But no matter what your goals are, the principles of success will always apply.

We’ve talked a bit about the importance of taking baby steps when you are starting something new. I don’t expect all of you to complete yesterday’s home office cardio session or the home office workout from the previous day. Do what you can and focus on continuous and consistent improvement.

Celebrate even the smallest of successes. I know that I’ve witnessed many of them already this week. Just allowing the idea that home office fitness can have a significant impact on your online business and profits is reason enough to celebrate. The fact that many of you went out and purchased a stability ball after watching my desk exercise video demonstration a few days ago is a big reason to celebrate.

Success usually doesn’t happen over night. It’s a journey… and I know that sounds so cliche, but it’s true. Enjoy the process. Be proud of all your accomplishments. You don’t need to rush the big successes. Start with the small ones and keep the momentum rolling.

I’d like to share a video with you that will help make even greater use of the stability ball that you recently brought into your home office.

Stability Ball Exercises For Homepreneurs

You may download the video by right clicking On The Ball

When you are sitting on a stability ball at your desk it’s so easy to take a quickie break and perform these exercises. It’s not an interruption to your workday… it’s a contribution to your online business and the quality of your life.

It’s all about perspective. Are you beginning to change your perspective about fitness? Are you recognizing that 10 short minutes can have a significant impact? Do you see that fitness is so much more than just fat loss? It’s not something that you should ‘try’ to ‘fit in’ your day. It needs to be a priority.

There’s no better success principle than that of gratitude. We all have so much to be grateful for no matter what struggles we may be going through. You have been given the gift of life. Demonstrate how grateful you are for that gift by making the most of it. Live to your potential in all areas of your life. Strive to be the best YOU that YOU can be.

I am grateful for the opportunity to connect with you, to share my thoughts, and my passions. I have an intense desire to help you live the life that you deserve and I sincerely believe that it all begins with your health. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for opening up your mind to my views on how fitness impacts your business. I thank you for taking immediate action and applying the material that I’ve shared.

I thank Lynn for making this all possible. It’s a true testament to her character that she is willing to have this information shared on her blog. Lynn truly cares about you and your success in all areas of life. Many other online guru’s would brush this off and not allow it on their Internet Marketing blogs. This is just one more reason why Lynn ROCKS! and…

You ROCK!

Scott Tousignant

PS Tomorrow I will be sharing another free report with you along with some great tips that I do in order to make the absolute most out of my time. You’re going to love it!

Discover how living an active lifestyle can create greater networking opportunities, which can really give your business a boost...

Hello there. I’m Scott Tousignant your guest blogger for the week, helping you become super-focused and highly productive by incorporating home office fitness into your busy workday. Today I’m going to share a quickie cardio session that will help you burn off some of that Thanksgiving turkey and stuffing. You will also discover how living an active lifestyle can create greater networking opportunities, which can really give your business a boost.

Let’s talk networking since the NAMS 3 workshop is just around the corner. I absolutely love attending live events. It’s one of the best ways to connect with like-minded entrepreneurs.

If you have been to a live Internet Marketing event I have a question for you. Have there been people at these events that you found yourself immediately attracted to? I’m not asking whether or not you thought they were ‘hot’. I mean, did they radiate positive energy and come across as someone that you immediately wanted to learn more about.

I remember an Internet Marketing event that I attended three years ago. It was only the second event that I had ever been too. There was a cocktail party on the opening night and there was a very fit couple standing across the room. They oozed confidence and at the same time had an aura about them that was open and inviting. I made a bee line to them and struck up a great conversation that lasted the entire evening. Shortly after I hired them as my mentors and we’ve built an incredible friendship and fantastic memories.

At that same event I was walking through the lobby late at night and noticed a guy sitting on the sofa who looked like some kind of teacher. He was in fact, Bob “The Teacher” Jenkins Bob had that inviting, energetic, positive energy about him as well. We chatted the night away and quickly became good friends. We have been daily accountability partners for the past three years and have had a significant impact on each others online businesses.

What’s this have to do with living an active lifestyle? Once again… Everything!

When you exercise regularly and take care of your health you gain a great deal of confidence and self-esteem. You feel great about yourself. You have a more positive outlook on life. You become more approachable. Actually, you become the person that everyone wants to approach. No one likes to be around a downer, especially when it comes to the success of your online business.

I can’t wait to observe how the Fat Loss Quickie members stand out from the crowd at NAMS 3. I already notice a big boost in confidence from the videos that they post on their blogs. They have become fun loving people who aren’t afraid to put themselves out there.

There are more ways of increasing networking opportunities other than appearance and being more approachable. Some of my most memorable and profitable networking opportunities have occurred while I’ve been exercising at events. Not many attendees hit the hotel gym early in the morning so the handful of people that are there get to spend some fun quality time together where you share a common interest. The best networking opportunities usually occur in a non-business like setting where you can let your guard down and just be yourself.

Taking a break from the hectic event schedule to go for a walk with a couple of people that you’ve connected with at the conference is another outstanding opportunity to network. Enjoying the scenery and fresh air with some fellow Internet Marketers provides a great chance to build and nourish relationships. Social networking doesn’t happen just on Twitter and Facebook

Now lets get to burning some of those calories from your Thanksgiving dinner…

Here’s a 10-minute quickie cardio session that I recommend doing first thing in the morning to crank up your metabolism for the day. If you are a beginner please feel free to extend the rest period between exercises. As mentioned throughout the comments about yesterday’s home office workout, it’s all about progression. You may not be able to complete the quickie cardio session and that’s ok. Take those baby steps and continue to build upon them.

Home Office Cardio

You may download the video by right clicking quickie cardio

So how did that feel? Pretty amazing what you can do in just 10-minutes, in a limited amount of space, and with no equipment eh?

Tomorrow I will be sharing some more basic exercises that you can do with the stability ball since so many of you have taken immediate action and scooped up one for your home office. That impresses the heck out of me! Way to go!

Oh… one more thing before I wrap this post up. If you are in the U.S.A and celebrating Thanksgiving tomorrow you have a great networking opportunity that will be enhanced with exercise. It’s with your family. After you eat your Thanksgiving dinner ask a family member or two if they would like to join you for a walk. Catch up on what’s going on, reflect on old times, and share your dreams for the future.

You know how sluggish you typically feel after Thanksgiving dinner right? Go for a walk and you’ll come back energized and feeling really good about yourself. I want to hear back from you. Let me know if you follow through with it.

You ROCK!

Scott Tousignant

PS Thank you so much for all the great responses to my previous guest posts here. Your contributions to the conversation have been absolutely outstanding and greatly appreciated.

Today we are going to explore the topic of productivity in more detail and help you get more of it during your workday...

Hello again. I’m Lynn’s friend and fellow Internet Marketer Scott Tousignant. This week I am enjoying my role as guest blogger here at Clicknewz and introducing you to the positive impact that home office fitness will have on your business.

I sure enjoyed all your comments on yesterday’s blog post where I shared some simple desk exercises with you. Remember, I’m randomly selecting a winner from all the comments on my blog posts this week.

Yesterday I mentioned that corporations have been adopting workplace fitness as a means of increasing productivity with their employees. Today we are going to explore the topic of productivity in more detail and help you get more of it during your workday…

I know that this is a question which has come up at Clicknewz in the past, but it’s worth asking again. How many hours do you spend working on your online business? Next question… How many of those hours are spent being productive?

It’s important to work hard and pay your dues in order to get your online business turning a profit. But spending 12-16 hours sitting in front of your computer may not be the most useful way to spend your time. You may be busy, but you are not being completely productive.

Have you ever found yourself staring at the computer screen for an hour trying to write a blog post, free report, or sales copy and not get anything done at all? I know that I’ve been there before. It happened to Nicole Dean’s mother Patti too. Here’s one of the experiences that she had with a quickie workout when she was trying to write an article…

“So, here I was, writing away on an article I have to finish NOW, not taking the 10 minutes I needed to do my workout. Instead, I kept thinking ‘right after I finish this article I’ll do the workout.’

Now, that wouldn’t be a BIG problem except I couldn’t think! I was writing at about 1/10th the speed and thought process that I normally have! Ah, connect the dots… so, I hopped up and got to work on my weight session for today.

Oh, that felt so good, and I’m thinking again like I need to in order to finish the article. Okay, case closed. This whole Quickie thing works.

Great insight Scott … again!”

You only have approximately three peak productivity hours in your day. If you are really focused and have been working on your productivity, you may be able to squeeze out four very productive hours throughout your workday.

It’s important to know what hours of the day you are most productive and capitalize on them. I am most productive during the hours of 9am and 12 noon. Any other time during the day I can become very easily distracted. Many of my friends work a lot better during the evening hours when their kids are sleeping. All I can think about is quality cuddle time with my wife Angie during those hours… and maybe a bit of tweeting here and there

I love Lynn’s advice of working on active tasks during your peak productivity hours and then do the passive activities after, during your less than productive hours. Active tasks would be something such as writing a guest blog post, creating a free report, or adding sales copy to your website. Something that can directly increase your online profits. Passive tasks would be tweeting, reading other people’s blogs, or checking your email.

I have a secret weapon when it comes to increasing my productivity. It’s short bursts of fast, fun home office fitness. Instead of only having three to four peak productivity hours throughout my day, I can easily create an additional hour where I’m super-focused and highly productive.

I strategically time my home office workouts for the times during my day when I’m feeling less productive such as first thing in the morning when I’d rather just sit in the rocker and drink some coffee and around noon when I begin to experience a bit of a lull and feel like taking a nap.

I usually prefer to do the quickie cardio first thing in the morning and perform the quickie workout at noon. Here’s an example of a mid day home office workout that requires very little space, very little equipment, and very little time.

You may download the video by right clicking quickie workout

Lack of time is nothing but an excuse when it comes to avoiding exercise. If you are looking at the 10-minute workout as taking time away from your work and your life you’ve got it all wrong.

This 10 minute fitness break will actually give you more time in your day because you will be able to get more work done in less time as a result of your increased productivity and focus gained from the workout experience.

Come on now… who seriously doesn’t have 10-minutes to workout?

Here’s a typical breakdown of my day…

5:45 am Wake up with Angie and do a quickie cardio session together. This is the greatest start to my day and has a greater impact on my energy than coffee. I do enjoy a cup of coffee though… mostly for the warmth.

6:00 am Shower and eat a healthy breakfast.

6:15 am Work on my most important business task of the day which typically involves creating high quality content for my Fat Loss Quickie blog or a blog that I may be writing a guest post for.

7:00 am Get the kids ready for school. Angie has started her workday at this point, running a daycare in our home, so it’s my responsibility to get the kids off to school.

8:00 am My kids are on the bus and it’s time for me to get some of the kids that Angie watches onto their buses.

9:00 am I’m ready to tackle my most important tasks of the day. I start off by visiting the Fat Loss Quickie Club and checking in on my members goals. I like to tweet them and keep them on track for the day. Then I’ll get back to blogging and any other important task.

12:00 pm I’ve reached my peak productivity limit and it’s time for me to do a quickie home office workout followed by a healthy meal.

12:30 pm If I still have some major tasks to complete I’ll get back to them. If not I’ll visit Lynn’s Elite Members forum too see if I can be helpful to anyone. I’ll also visit a couple other forums and leave a comment on a blog post or two if the content was compelling and I can be resourceful to the audience there. I’ll also use this time to post some tweets and see what conversations are going on. If there aren’t any good conversations I will get out and do something more productive.

Worked into the mix are podcasts, Fat Loss Quickie accountability calls, and Lynn’s Private Brainstorming sessions. Plus my daily accountability call with Bob “The Teacher” Jenkins. I’ll also use the time after 12:30 for educational purposes if I don’t have any major tasks to complete.

I like to wrap things up by 2pm with the absolute latest time being 3pm when my kids get off the bus. I devote the late afternoon and early evening to them. When they are in bed I may check in on Twitter or in a forum, but only for a few minutes and then Angie has my complete attention for the rest of the evening.

Why is home office fitness so great for boosting your productivity?

Your brain is actually being nourished by the BDNF protein which is created when you are physically active. At the same time as your brain is being fed, your body is eliminating stress chemicals that can have a harmful effect on your body and productivity. This is largely due to the increase in oxygen flow to the brain.

When you exercise you are creating an environment within your brain that is ideal for problem-solving, time management, increased focus, and greater levels of creativity. And get this… Exercise can actually help create new brain cells. I think we can all use a few more of those

Exercise is the best thing that you can do to help your brain operate at its absolute best. If you are serious about your online business you can’t continue to put off exercise any longer. Do not ignore the positive impact that it will have on your business and life.

The above benefits are the reasons why I exercise regularly and eat well. My focus isn’t to lose weight even when I need to drop a few pounds or gain muscle. Those are both secondary benefits that do happen as you heard from Angela Wills in her comment on yesterday’s blog post stating that she has lost 20 pounds.

This makes sticking to a fitness program for the long term so much easier. It’s one of the advantages that you have over someone who is following a fitness program just to lose weight. You’re not exercising just to improve your health… you’re exercising to build your business and boost profits. That’s so much more motivating!

It’s time to do the quickie home office workout that I’ve shared with you above. Make note of how you feel before and after the workout. Pay attention to your mental clarity and creativity during the next two hours. The effects of this 10-minute workout will carry on throughout your day.

You don’t need to wait until the New Year to make a resolution to improve your health and quality of life. Take action NOW! You deserve this quickie fitness break and how it will make you feel afterward. Go for it!

You ROCK!

Scott Tousignant

PS I’ll be sharing a quickie home office cardio session with you tomorrow that is a perfect compliment to today’s workout and a great solution for combating all the excess calories from your Thanksgiving dinner

It was taken at the first NAMS Workshop in January of this year, when David crowned me "The Queen of Affiliate Marketing". I wear that crown around my office every day, of course.

David is the host of the workshop, and he has put together something really great with NAMS. It's a low-cost, hands-on workshop where you learn & earn on the spot.

<itunes:summary>I'm passing on a note from Frank Kern which includes a free download. It's an interview with Perry Marshall as he addresses the recent changes with Google Adwords:

Note - Perry Marshall is the author of the Definitive Guide to Google Adwords (http://www.selfstartersweeklytips.com/adwords-guide.htm) which covers the specifics of Google Adwords, and of increasing your Click-Thru Rate (CTR) and your Conversion Rate. Perry is well known as the industry leader on Google Adwords.

By now you've heard how those geniuses at Google are jacking up bid prices all over the place.

Every day I get another horror story about how someone goes from a few thousand clicks a day ...down to ten clicks at a dollar each.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO TAKE IT.

Last week I recorded an interview with Google Master Perry Marshall. This interview addresses how to FIX THE GOOGLE PROBLEM.

It's yours for the taking here:
http://www.infomillionaire.com/pmarsh.mp3 (http://www.infomillionaire.com/pmarsh.mp3)

Get it and listen to it. Pass it around if you want.

Right now it's Us Vs. Google.

Frank

I am downloading the MP3 myself as we speak. Feel free to post your comments!

What you’ll find here is simply a quick recap of the PubCon event. There are a lot of details that I’d like to share with you in upcoming posts – about individual people, resources, websites and things that I learned – so keep an eye out for those as well…

Before I kick this off, I’d like to give a big THANK YOUÂ to Rae Hoffman. I’ve known Rae since probably ’97Â or ’98. Not only is she one of the best in regards to affiliate marketing and SEO, she’s a also a great friend. Rae made it a point to introduce me to people that I wanted to meet, and to people she felt I should meet. She also offered a lot of pointers in regards to the sessions, which was very helpful.

So thanks, Rae – and yes, I owe you inbound links for the next decade over the Thursday intro’s You rock! (By the way, someone asked me: “are you one of Rae’s girls?” – so are you pimpin’ now, or what?? hehe)

Note: I got an exclusive interview with Rae on Affiliate Marketing a couple of years ago that is still one of the most popular on my site. You can find it here.

What Makes PubCon Different?

I’ve been to several conferences and seminars over the last few years, and I have to say that the thing that sets PubCon apart from any other event is the lack of the pitch. Basically, there is no pitching. Even during networking hours, you wont find people pitching their business or themselves – but simply getting to know each other and sharing ideas and resources.

The speakers at PubCon are everyday people who offer great advice and real-world examples. Their hands-on experience, and the fact that they are ‘out there doing it’, makes their perspective invaluable.

This is THE event to attend. Make it a point – or a goal – to get to the next PubCon, or one in the very near future . I’ll be in Vegas for the next PubCon event (Nov 2006), so let me know if you are going to be there and we’ll make plans to meet up!

The Sessions

The sessions were broken down into four groups, and all four sessions were going at once. You had to choose between them, and hope to catch notes & details from the people who attended other sessions. Tough choices, yes, but it did make for some very good conversations after hours…

Tuesday April 18th

Tuesday started out with registration and continental breakfast at 8am. It was actually an impressive spread for a “continental breakfast” – I had orange juice, coffee, a blueberry muffin and a rasberry danish. None of which I finished because the conversation at our table was more interesting than the food at the time…

Greg Niland joined us, and after brief introductions we talked about everything from WordPress to outsourcing. I actually skipped the keynote address by Malcolm Gladwell to continue this discussion (yes, it was that good).

Fortunately I have both of Malcolm’s books, and there is an excellent recap of the presentation on Lee Odden’s blog: Malcolm Gladwell, PubCon Boston Keynote.

The first session of the day for me was Affiliate Microsites and Niche Marketing at 10:15am. Chris R. talked about ‘emotions in advertising and media’ and how to trigger various emotions through our websites. Very good stuff.

Ted Ulle spoke about Long Copy, and specifically how to “write tight, not wide”. Some of his more interesting points were on how you can pack in a lot of readable points even to visitors who are ‘scanning’ your copy. Again, good stuff – and Ted was a great person to get to know after the sessions. Very approachable.

Jeff Libert was up next in this session, and he shared some good info about setting up “dot orgs”, about niches (love or money?), and about micro-sites. Overall this was an excellent session.

The next session I attended was Affiliate Site Strategies and Optimization. This block of sessions was a tough decision for me because Rae Hoffman was on the panel for the Link Building Clinic at the same time – so I sat in on the session through Greg Niland’s presentation and then moved over to the Link Building Clinic for the remainder of the time.

Fortunately Greg was up first. I have to say, his presentation was the most entertaining of them all. He moved very fast, kept us all madly jotting notes, and threw in a few and along the way to boot. I’ll have to share some of this with you in a later post… great stuff.

Oh – and listen to WebmasterRadio.fm – Greg hosts the Goodkarma Show (I’m listening in as I write this – Dave N. and Mikkel deMib are on)

Like I said, I skipped out after Greg spoke and headed over to the Link Building Clinic. Byron White and Dixon Jones were on the panel alongside Rae Hoffman. There were some really good points made, enough to warrant a post of their own on Link Building, so I’ll post that over the next week.

I have to note here that the most interesting thing about the Link Building Clinic, other than the info, was watching Rae Hoffman on her laptop throughout the session. She’s fast and she’s good. If you ever consider hiring someone for a site audit or a linking plan… Rae is the one you should contact.

Next on the agenda was LUNCH . It was actually a sack lunch (mine was Ham & Swiss and pasta) while we listened in to Matt, Vanessa and Amanda on Google Sitemaps. More on this later too – I had a hard time juggling lunch & note-taking, but I managed and do have some good tidbits to share with you

(The guy in the front row at the “Google Lunch” was blogging through the entire session. I wish I knew his blog address!)

The next session I attended was Blogging, Pod Casting and RSS Feeds. <-- this link will take you to Lee Odden's detailed notes from the session (he covered it well!). I thought that Greg Harnett’s presentation was particularly good. He did a great job of ‘planting seeds’ in regards to sharing ideas that could generate large spikes of traffic.

I had an opportunity to meet and speak with Greg later that evening in the Sheraton Lounge. He is full of innovative ideas, quite an interesting person. In fact, the entire crew from Best of the Web was great to hang out with – definitely “people to know”.

After the sessions, Rae introduced me to both Jim Boykin and Aaron Wall. I’ve been following Jim’s blog ever since his article on co-citation so it was great to meet him in person. The article is a must-read. It’s very well written, nicely illustrated… and “need to know” stuff for anyone with a website.

Wednesday April 19th

My day actually started at 11:35am with Link Building Campaigns. We heard from Mike Grehan, Jim “Dont Blog This!” Boykin, Bill Hartzer & Eric Ward. I’ll post more on this (minus Jim Boykin’s tips, which were for attendees only) – there were some real nuggets shared in this session.

(Yes, I missed Robert Scoble at the Morning Coffee Session. I regret that, but it just wasnt going to happen for me Fortunately I found a great recap of the session here: Recap by Adam Schultz)

Next on my route was Paid Links: Risk vs Reward with Todd Malicoat (aka StuntDubl), Patrick Gavin of Text-Link-Ads.com, Philip Kaplan of Ad Brite and Roger Montti (aka MartiniBuster).

You can download Todd’s presentation here: Paid Link Strategies (I’m printing it as I write this to review again – great stuff). I learned A LOT in this session, so I’ll definitely be blogging more on that. In the meantime, follow the links throughout this post- Todd and Roger both have excellent blog posts to check out… and everything I linked here, I linked to for a reason

I skipped the Super Session on Wednesday afternoon for a nap (so sue me), but the evening was full of interesting people and great conversations. Likewise, the Pubcon Classic event on Thursday was excellent… and the discussions (not to mention the fun!) lasted into early Friday morning.

And yes, this was a “Quick” Recap, so keep your eyes peeled for more from me on the PubCon event – juicy tidbits, photos, resources & strategies that I picked up, and interesting people that I met…
