My favorite is the 'sign up incentive' and doing honest product & service reviews.
Also, I think it's important to set up your blog to it's full optin potential, adding optin forms in multiple places WITHOUT being too pushy about it.

Were your tips for creating a *new* list? We already have a list and we were intrigued about offering the less expensive products like the $7, $14 but would it make sense to offer this to our existing list? that doesn't grow the list I don't think, does it?

I actually just went ahead and bought the ebook by Phil Hollows, just what I need right now. Is there anything that has changed much since 2011?
I'm always concerned about overselling to my list. I use a free ebook to get people to subscribe, but I like your idea of using a paid product so that actual buyers sign up for your list.
