View Full Version : Looking for Suggestions

A few months ago a launched a website [URL="http://www.thesoulfulwriter.com"]. The intention of this website was two-fold - to blog about topics that offered inspiration and encouragement and to promote a Kindle book, "Soulful Prayers". I'm afraid it's sorely lacking in traffic, and consequently, in sales of my Kindle book. Shortly after I launched my site, I set-up a Twitter account and I just recently opened a Facebook account under The Soulful Writer, and created a page for Soulful Prayers. I even spent a few bucks promoting my page, in which I received approximately 400 likes, but, sadly no conversions to sales. Then I created an offer to give away a free PDF copy of the book, and while the offer page showed 38 people claimed the offer, I only received email addresses from about a half dozen asking for the copy. I responded to those requests right away, but have yet to receive any feedback. So, I'm ready to throw in the towel here, but before I do, I thought I'd reach out to Clicknewz members to see if anyone can offer me some pointers and/or suggestions on what I can do to:

1. Improve my website so I can get traffic, and then traffic that converts to sales.
2. What can I do on Facebook now that my offer and promotion has expired.

Any and all suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi,

I am looking at your main page at http://thesoulfulwriter.com and I don't see links to your book or your social profiles or anything there on the main page. There's no way to subscribe for updates either. What exactly do you want people to do when they land on your main page?

I clicked on the first post: http://thesoulfulwriter.com/hymn-inspiration/ and the only thing to do on that page is click a YouTube link - which immediately took me off your site. Still no mention of your book or social channels or anything there either.

I'm not sure what you share on your Twitter or Facebook accounts since I can't find the links easily, but have you consistently shared relevant updates - and if so, for how long? Do your accounts link to your book on Amazon or to your website? It's hard to suggest what you should do differently without seeing what you have been doing so far, so feel free to share your links here if you'd like some specific feedback.

It's too soon to give up though. :) You need to get more aggressive with your networking and marketing, specifically with organic marketing (not paid advertising) to make a name for yourself and build an audience - which is a great platform to build interest about your book.

Lynn,

Thank you so much for your comments. Here are my social media links - https://twitter.com/soulfulwriter17 and https://www.facebook.com/soulfulprayers.

I also understand what you're saying about my home page, and will work on adding my book link and social profiles to that page.

I've been a Private Brainstorming member twice in the past, but have cancelled my membership due to time constraints and the inability to attend the live sessions. However, I'm thinking about joining once again since it could be of benefit to me at this time.

Beth

Hi Beth,

I'll take a look at those at first opportunity.

I also shared your question with my Facebook community to help you get even more feedback:
