Hi Everyone - Does anyone have a recommendation for a service I can use for a telephone interview? I want the call recorded and transcribed. Inexpensive is good. Thanks in advance.

Hi Constance,

I've used FreeConference.com (http://www.freeconference.com/) before. The recording quality was good, it was easy to use... and you can't beat the price (free) for a recorded conference call! It worked quite well.

But I didn't use their transcription service. They basically farm it out to a 3rd party, and I believe the cost was about $150 for a 60-minute recording. That's not bad, I guess... but I'm a fast typist, so decided to do my own transcription of the call.

Thanks! I think I'd rather type it myself too =)

Constance,
You might check with Retta719 here in the forum. She might have some advice for your transcription needs. Her profile is http://www.selfstartersweeklytips.com/members/member.php?u=5

Another source for a bridgeline is freeconferencecalling.com

I use Skype for interview & podcast recordings quite a bit. I believe the plugin or utility is called Pamela. Not sure if they offer transcription with that. Anyone know?

I also use Loretta Oliver (profile link Chris gave) for my audio transcription. She's fast and her rates are super reasonable.

Awesome! Thanks everyone. Someone else also told me about freeconferencecall.com. And thanks for the two votes on the transcriptionist! I'll contact her.

As to Skype, I use it when needed but I'm not a huge fan of VOIP. I find the quality to be inconsistent, on regular calls and on the webmaster radio recorded podcasts that I listen to. I have to say that your (Lynn) podcast seems to be of good quality.

Thank you for the transcription mention Chris and Lynn :)

$150 for a 60-minute recording.

As a transcriptionist I will say that is an inflated rate for sure.

Shh, don't give them that idea ;) LOL - I'm just kidding.
