I'm going to take a good look at your blog and your individual posts to study your call-to-action and specific promotions...

That's a quote someone left on a previous post about looking at my blog. Funny thing is I am so new to this I need someone to explain what "call to action" is in a blog context and also what would be considered "specific promotions" in same!:o Any enlightenment would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance, Chris

Chris, a call to action is simply a request for the consumer to take the next step toward a specific action. For example, on my blog, my call to action is simply "Subscribe To Free Marketing Tips Blog!"

It's simple, but extremely effective. A specific promotion can be anything you want. For example, "Subscribe to Free Marketing Tips Blog within the next 10 days and receive a free podcasting course!"

Hey Chris,

Here are some good starting points for you:

http://www.clicknewz.com/513/call-to-action/

http://www.clicknewz.com/1993/how-to-write-a-blog-post/

http://www.clicknewz.com/630/how-to-monetize-website-traffic/

That last link includes an example where I changed a post with no call to action, to include a call to action.
