I use & recommend HostGator (http://www.clicknewz.com/hostgator.htm) and have a coupon code you can use to get your first month free (actually for 1c, but that's about as close to free as you can get: coupon code "wordpress" (without quotes).

Most of us are now using WordPress to create both blogs and static sites (using Pages instead of Posts). If you're great with HTML, Dreamweaver is a good option, but WordPress offers a lot of visitor interactivity and is very easy to use in regards to content management.

Ahh cool - I haven't been to Memphis (yet).

Do a search on Google for wordpress shopping cart or wordpress ecommerce. There are quite a few plugins you can use.

They offer both toll-free phone & online web chat support. I prefer the online web chat option and have been really impressed with how fast & efficient they are at helping me resolve issues that come up (especially when they are my own fault lol - I tend to break things!).
