How does this blogger do that?

Scroll down. After the first 3 posts, the other posts all show up in excerpts but in little boxes, also showing tiny little thumbnails of photos. Anybody know how she does this? I'm thinking there's a plug in somewhere. . .

That site runs on Thesis, and the page layout is one of the theme options. The Magazine Basic theme has that layout as an option, too, and is free.

You can also do this by displaying your own RSS feed, if you do not want to change your whole theme, or you want extra customisability (is that a real word :) ).

I do this by putting a custom image into each post - http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/custom-field-images/ works well and then adding the image into the RSS feed.

Custom field images will automatically put the image at the start of each post.
