When posting products on a niche site, for example books from amazon on a book niche site, what is the best way to post the content for the book?? especially if you do not have first hand experience with the product....copy description from amazon and modify?

Hey Pam,

There are several ways you can do it, and I'll just show you a few examples from the ClickNewz archives to spark some ideas:

My Amazon Order for the Week (http://www.clicknewz.com/2054/my-amazon-order-oct5/)

Magazines for Writers (http://www.clicknewz.com/1657/magazines-for-writers/)

The Power of Full Engagement (http://www.clicknewz.com/1804/power-of-full-engagement/)

Breaking Into The Boys Club (http://www.clicknewz.com/1748/breaking-into-the-boys-club/)

Hip Blog Marketing Guide for Female Bloggers (http://www.clicknewz.com/1240/hip-blog-marketing-guide-for-female-bloggers/)

Some of those I had read, some I had not - but the different styles and what I included should spark some ideas & inspiration for you. You can get a lot of detail from the Amazon page and from the consumer reviews.

And if you're still at a loss for words, you can post a query on MyLot.com or Answers.Yahoo.com (social Q&A sites) and ask for opinions on a title. Obviously you would read over the replies collectively as inspiration for more thoughts to include in your recommendation.

Pam -

It really depends... are you doing a product review or are you just sprinkling in a few product links in a blog article.

I do believe that a story or review of a product that you have personally used is the best way to "sell" a product.

I have not used every Amazon product linked from my blogs... and I never say I have used it - If I haven't. Never give false testimonies.

But... I want at least one product recommendation or at least a link to a product in every blog article I write... So I often put in links to a product that would be useful to the reader.

For instance... I wrote an article recently about the difference between undermount and surface mount sinks. I used pictures of each style that I got off Amazon and linked the pictures to Amazon with my affiliate link.

Thanks Lynn and Debra. The part of my site that I am referring to is just a product directory.

I will also be referring to these items in some of my blog posts, but in this product directory of sorts, is what I am mostly referring to.

Debra, your site is very nice. Love the layout. The header is great! Lynn thanks for pointing out the different styles of posts. Looking at them right now.

Thanks for the ideas from both of you.

The "magazines for writers" post might be the format you're looking for...
