Hi all,
I haven't been on the forum in awhile and believe it or not I miss you guys! :D
During this past year's 30 Day Challenge I was encouraged to subscribe to WordpressDirect and I did. At this point I don't think the subscription to WPD is necessary as I think I can post to my blog directly on Wordpress. If that is so I should cancel my WPD subscription.
How do you post directly in Wordpress bypassing WPD?
Thanking you all in advance for your replies, take care, Chris

Chris,
I think this forum thread (http://www.selfstartersweeklytips.com/members/showthread.php?t=2231) on Wordpress and Wordpress Direct might be helpful to you.

Thank you so much for the link Angie. How do I switch form WPD to Wordpress.org on HostGator? How would I log in to Wordpress.org?

Hi Chris, Nice to meet you here.
If you sign up at Hostgator (http://www.clayfranklin.com/hostgator), they will bring your blog over for you for free. Use coupon code wordpress to get the $1 special. They have excellent tech support and the free move comes with new accounts only so be sure to sign up for it when you join. Leave me a mesage if you have any questions about it.
I had Hostgator bring ClayFranklin.com (http://clayfranklin.com)over from GoDaddy a couple of months ago and it worked great. You just need the PHP my admin log in for the database retrieval. I did a backup beforehand just in case. I have not used wordpress direct yet have met with others that use it.

Hi Chris,
I have a checklist for setting up WordPress on your own host/domain here:
http://www.clicknewz.com/1872/how-to-start-a-wordpress-blog/
You just log in from yourdomain.com/wp-admin/ with the username and password that you chose when you installed it - which is real easy to do from within your hosting cpanel (the installation).
