View Full Version : Does my blog look like a race car?

Hi all!

You know what I mean, those NASCAR cars racing around the track with (what seems like) a zillion ads on them? Well, a post I read on Problogger the other day made me take a good look at my own blog and DAMN if it didn't look a little like that analogy.

I think I may have gotten carried away with ads and the important stuff like good content and quality links has suffered big time:(.

If you have a sec please take a look at my site and give me your opinion, suggestions etc. so I can clean things up.
This blog is mainly a work in progress since the niche really doesn't produce anything for me. I make more selling my old cookbooks on ETSY.com so the blog is really a learning tool for me.

Since I rushed into this without much of a plan, I decided to take a step backward and try and learn more and plan better so my future projects will do better.

Thanks for the support friends!:D

Yep. It does. :)

I'd remove the marketing stuff like HostGator & Linkshare - UNLESS they're converting.

If you want to promote "How this blog makes money" then set up a page and link to them there.

Also, this affiliate program is converting well for me, especially the Freezer Cooking Make Simple Guide:

Just a heads up in case it might be a better fit than the marketing guides you've got there. (Disclaimer: I am a JV broker for Susanne, but I promote this product myself as you can see on ShowMomtheMoney.com - see? I'm all about the disclaimers now. lol!)

Best wishes,
Nicole

Awesome - thanks so much for your help and being so honest.
Going to check out your links right away.
Looks as though the 'elite' group are called that for a reason. You really know your stuff! I am going to make joining the Elite Member group a top-priority goal.
Thanks again Nicole and I hope it's ok to hit you back after I make some changes?

Take care,
Phil

Tried signing up for HBHW affiliate pgm. but have not received an email confirming or a username/password yet.
Thought this usually worked through an auto-responder so I was not sure if I did something wrong.
I emailed Susanne so I'll see what happens.
Thanks for the suggestion, the product will be a good fit.

Thanks again,
Phil
