Anyone ever used (heard of) Dropbox?

For those of us who travel and use multiple computers all the time (that are NOT networked), this might be a little better than googledocs.

Thoughts? Can anybody give me some idea on how much space for spreadsheets and docs 2gb REALLY is?

I had a client recommend dropbox to me and I LOVE it. I work on multiple computers, so it's perfect for that, but it's also great for stuff you just want backed up. It acts like a folder in your documents, so it's pretty seamless.

I don't know how many spreadsheets will fit into a 2GB space, but I can tell you that I'm using about 1% of my available space. That's dozens of folders, text files, html files and graphics, and my QuickBooks database.

I use DropBox on a daily basis .... LOVE it! It's great for working together on projects, delivering files to clients, and even just for keeping extra copies of your website files just in case you need them.

I store all of my PLR in private just for me folder in dropbox so that I can grab and go from any computer. It's been really helpful since my laptop died on me and I've been jumping on hubby's laptop to blog at night. I used to keep all my PLR on a thumb drive, but this is way easier since I can't lose it in the bottom of my purse -lol-

I've got loads of stuff in my Dropbox right now, including about a dozen shared files with clients and JVs, so definitely lots of space.

I use Dropbox to keep some things synced between my work laptop (PC) and home desktop (Mac). I've filled up my 2GB space because a lot of my files are audio and video, but you should be able to store a LOT of spreadsheet data in 2GB.

Overall Dropbox works really, really well - nearly perfect. It also gives you the option of having a "public" folder where you can have customers upload/download files too big to email.

I highly recommend it.

This is a very cool tool. Assuming that I limit users on my own computers, can I safely use it for passwords, etc. and other security sensitive information?

Dropbox has become a vital part of my work environment, and I don't know how I got by without it.

I also use 1password (password manager on the mac) and have the data file in my dropbox folder so all my computers can access it. Works like a charm.

I'll look into 1password, Lisa, but can you give me an idea of what it does and does it work on a PC?

the PC version of 1password is Roboform. It saves all your web passwords and will auto fill for you as well. I used Roboform exclusively before I moved to a mac. http://bit.ly/8IDZtL
